My pups enjoying a soup bone after getting their ears cleaned and nails done using a Dremel tool.
Dad… I’m not really looking at your food, but I’m looking at your food….
Ollie is in our prayers my friendOllie started to have seizures again last night.
He’s maxed on his Zonisamide dosage, but a while back the vet got us some phenobarbital just in case. Can use both.
Started phenobarbital as soon as seizures broke through.
Doing okay so far…..Don’t know if his time is measured in hours, days or months.
He really is an awesome dog. Pray for him, please.
Every day is a blessing, just like it is for all of us…….

Thanks, bear. He’s almost normal today.Ollie is in our prayers my friend
I remember some of your pictures years back.Ya now I"ve tried to pick a favorite and as had as I've tried I just can't.
Here's my boy at his best.
Bear - I can relate - we're 58. We've both had dogs all our lives, except some time we had in an apartment.Going through the same thing my friend but not sure we can deal with that horrible pain again. At our age (65) really don't think we can go through the pain again as much as we love our fur babies but not real sure we can do without the love they give us, what a friggin delima.
No need for any delimma!Going through the same thing my friend but not sure we can deal with that horrible pain again. At our age (65) really don't think we can go through the pain again as much as we love our fur babies but not real sure we can do without the love they give us, what a friggin delima.
And they never will. I'm a restless sleeper so I toss from side to side a lot, when I'm on my right side my left arm is around my wife and when I'm on my left side my right arm is around my dog, both give me great comfort....I'm a very lucky guy!!!Just a Dog
Authored by Richard A. Biby
From time to time, people tell me, “lighten up, it’s just a dog,” or, “that’s a lot of money for just a dog.” They don’t understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for “just a dog.”
Some of my proudest moments have come about with “just a dog.” Many hours have passed and my only company was “just a dog,” but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by “just a dog,” and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of “just a dog” gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it’s “just a dog,” then you will probably understand phases like “just a friend,” “just a sunrise,” or “just a promise.” “Just a dog” brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. “Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
Because of “just a dog” I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it’s not “just a dog” but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
“Just a dog” brings out what’s good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it’s not “just a dog” but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being “just a human.”
So the next time you hear the phrase “just a dog.” just smile, because they “just don’t understand.”
