I'm planning to get an auger for my L2501. I need to dig some 9"+ holes to support a solar install. A friend is offering me a lightly used auger at a very reduced price. The tractor and this auger are about 150 miles away from each other.
My questions
- are most 3P augers universal? Should I assume that I can attach this to my L2501 3P?
- in general, if this only has a 4" or 6" cutting "thing a majig" (auger, screw, ?), should I be able to buy and attach a bigger majig, or should I expect to be limited by what sort of torque this auger can handle.

Thanks!

If your tractor has a 3 PH and a PTO then they'll work. Interchangeability of augers from one brand to the next is something you'll need to investigate and confirm.

Determine the brand name and model number that your friend is offering you and consult their web site for further info. Good luck

generally speaking....a 9" auger will not drill a hole that a 9" pipe will fit into. most of the time the auger will be 2" larger.
any 3PT implement will(should) fit a 3PH on any tractor, there's always lots of adjustments though to 'tweak' it for proper operation.

The AUGERS are specific/unique to the make of the 'PHD' (Post Hole Digger', so you NEED to KNOW who made it AND then check to see IF a 9" auger($300 ??) is available......
