Yes well, today @Yooper posted a picture of a "crossslide" device that you use in conjuction with a dial indicator to make accuate cuts.

Well I wanted to see if there was some way to "auto shut off" the cross slide"

I could not see anyway to do that, but I saw this "silver knob' that I had not noticed in the 10+ years I have owned the lathe.



This is "my view" for the last 10+ years, so thats my "excuse"

Well upon further inspection, I noticed this little knob "pulls out"........Hmmmmm

Well I doubt that they made a "magic silver knob that pulls out" for nothing so I hit the power

And well "Hells Bells".... the cross slide started moving on its own!!!!!!!!!!

You need to get an original manual for the Crapsman lathe. Also watch a bunch of youtube videos while you are recuperating. I'm going to call your wife and tell her to start reading your posts on OTT!
