Hi
I could do with some advice in identifying a fuel issue with an old d1105 3 cylinder that I’m trying to resurrect.
The engine won’t start and at present I’m seeing lots of air in the overflow pipe that connects the injection pump to the injector overflow line. Whilst I’m cranking the engine the air bubbles disappear, but once I stop cranking the overflow fills with air as though there is some kind of suction force taking place as the crank slows down. Is there an explanation for this?
So far I’ve tried;
I did remove the starter solenoid and bleeder housing. Could a bad gasket on either of these cause the issue?
I've also replaced the injectors (sourced from a reliable supplier - not ebay!)
Any help or pointers would be appreciated. I’m running out of ideas.

So far I’ve tried;
Changing the fuel lines.
Bypassing the fuel filter and tank by hanging an IV type bottle above the engine.
Re-seating the injectors.
Using an alternative (Electric) fuel pump
