Hi guys,

I'm looking for some advice. I was recently blessed with a trailer full of equipment (attachments) from my uncle that he no longer wants to deal with.

With that said, I currently own a B6100 4X4 with an FEL which isn't a very "heavy" tractor. Now, the equipment in question is as follows:

1) Woods PRD7200 (new)
1) Woods 72" back blade
1) 60" Flail mower
1) Woods 9" Post hole drill
2) TSC 60" Lawn rollers (new)

I guess the question here would be... Is my 6100 able to use any of these?? Also, I did back up to the flail mower and it looks like my lower arms on the 3-point, weren't long enough to hook up properly...

I just have a lot of questions here... Any advice appreciated!! Thanks in advance!! - Travis

Shouldn't be an issue with the lawn roller.

Post hole digger might be a tad big for your bota. I would try it and see how it works before selling it. Might be an issue of the three point hitch going up high enough to keep from dragging the auger.

Flail mower is probably too big. Since your already questioning on whether it will even hook to your tractor. That's one I would try to hook up. If it doesn't fit then there is always the option of selling.

72" back blade is too big. I have a small L and a 60" is all it wants to handle. Not really an issue about the weight of the blade. It's an issue about what your dragging :D you do have the option of cutting it down to a more manageable width.

72" finish mower is a little big as well. Mines a 15hp and a 60" will put the engine under a pretty good strain in the thick grass. Does work good for cleaning the carbon out of the old girl though  72" would be too much for mine though and would spend more time on the clutch keeping the motor from stalling.

You do have the option of getting a bigger tractor in the 25 to 30hp range since you were hooked up with all that nice equipment. I personally would be trying to sell that option to the missus :):D:p

I agree with Daren. Most of what you got is marginal at best- your tractor may power it, but not under any heavy loads. Most of them may be too heavy for your 6100, too. I have weight on the front of my B7100, and my 48" tiller keeps the front end real light.
As suggested, now could be a good time to move up to a bigger tractor, or you can sell or trade the implements for ones that suit your 6100, or you can sell them and take the wife on a nice vacation. Just some thoughts.

Well all right then... I hate to say this, but the equipment that I have in my possession probably wont work for me. I'm trying to figure what to do that will benefit me in the end. I have about $4000 invested in everything including my tractor!

I'm looking for a way to mow my 5 acres in less than 7 hours (lawn mower) and still be able to mow off some high grass (field). I have a rather large driveway about a half mile long and I need something to keep the snow at bay and maybe do some grading. I own approx 12 acres, so having a tractor with an FEL would be a benefit as well.

What kind of $$$ should I expect to get out of the finish mower, back blade, flail mower, and post hole digger?

Search around on Craigslist to see what's out there for sale to compare. Also do a search on the brands you have and what they go for new. Clean them up nice with a fresh paint job will always help to increase the value. Flail mowers aren't cheap so you should fetch a nice buck for that!

Thank you all for the advice!! I guess I could sell everything and start over... Or I could just sell the "big" stuff and get things that WILL work with my 6100. I just wish there was a way to increase HP to the PTO... Oh well, I guess it's back to the drawing board....:(

Your budget may not allow it, but you need a bigger tractor to do what you want to do in a reasonable amout of time. The 6100 can get it done, but you will need to work with smaller implements, and take more time.

Hahahaha... Skeets, Thanks for the encouragement!! Ya know, you are only about 2 hours away...;)

Anyway, I guess I will check into other implements that will work with what I have. Thanks all for the advice!!

Sounds to me like the implements are just the right size for your farm, and a flail could do a dandy job of mowing the 5 acres, so the only thing that isn't perfect is the size of your tractor. So you could get a smaller farm  or a bigger tractor :) If I hadn't just ordered a flail, I'd be right over....

Well Im glad you got a chuckle ,, but I have to say like everyone else they is a tad on the large size for your little beasty
NOW if you could get old Uncle Bob, to say well you know like, give you the tractor that went with all that stuff now you would be sitting like a fat toad
