My 7040 tractor loader is raising a lot slower than normal. I just changed the hydraulic filters and saw basically no change in raising speed. Ideas?

Welcome to OTT
Check all hyd quick disconnects associated with FEL to be sure they're seated properly. It's possible 3 pt feedback rod is out of correct adjustment & if 3 pt is fully raised 3 pt relief valve is opened causing loss of hyd flow to FEL.

If the three point control is fully in the raise position it can affect operation of the loader.

Draft position lever can also affect lift speed And curl speed. Discovered it last week on my 7040. Draft lever was all the way down and lift/curl was very slow. May have had three point all the way up, but once I backed off the draft control, all went back to normal.

I agree if 3 pt feedback rod isn't adjusted correctly 3 pt when fully raised will cause relief valve to open robbing pump output & cause hyd oil to heat & as Dave stated remote control lever needs to be in neutral position when not in use
