Hey guys.. I have a chance to get.. I think a decent deal on a King Kutter box blade. I'm not sure if it's going to be too much or not. It's a 60" and will be pairing with a Bx2680. It will mainly be used for my gravel drive but will be used as intended in the future. New ones show about 475lb shipping weight.

You will be ok -

Once you get the box "full" of dirt or gravel - you will loose traction...... so small bites at a time and you will be fine. AND 4wd will fix most traction problems, but not all of them!

A FEL with some weight in it will also help traction !!!

Orange,
60" is likely too much blade for your BX. I have a 48" on my BX and when loaded, I'll lose traction before I run out of power. If you are only taking small cuts you might be OK.
Hope this helps,

I kind of figured it would be doable but I was reading somewhere.. probably on here that some larger tractors were running some 60" and wondering?? Larger than the B series.. I was confused on that, maybe there's different categories they showed 60 at the end of the numbers on the implements.

If it's a good deal you should be able to sell it without a loss if it doesn't work out...

You might have to take smaller bites, I run a 72" behind my L2800. Do you have loaded tires?
Exactly what I was thinking.. no doubt resale if it doesn't work out, I think I can get it for $400.

Are you running R4's? Just curious as to see how mine might differ with a different tread if so.
Yeah smaller bites definitely might just work.

Also sorry for all the separate post but I do not have enough time to do all without this site timing out on me. Every so often it reloads and I lose what I type., sometimes I can find it and finish but half of it is gone.

IMHO probably too much except under light duty use without using the shanks.
I would bet once you start ground engaging the shanks you wont have the traction and wheels will spin.

Thanks for the help on this guys.. this thing is heavy! The guy says he's had it for about 10 years so I figure it's probably one of the better and heavier ones they've made. My 2680 would not lift it high enough to clear my 5x10 trailer sides, I just held it in place and had my son pull the trailer out from under it.
It does pull it pretty easy with a full bucket and the rippers down but not over aggressive. I was having fun with it trying to get it figured out., watched some YouTube, lol. Not too bad and cleared the weeds growing in the driveway.

I think it sticks out about 6" on each side.. you can see in one of the photos I took to show how much.

The heavier you can make your BX2680, the better it will pull it.

Three years ago now we got the identical looking implement new from our local auto, farm supply chain store..

Ours is China made, but at $500 CDN, new it was the best, cheapest option available in this area at that time.. For what it is made for, what it is intended to do, it does it well..

Like said, we have a bit over 30 engine HP, loader, filled tires, and loose traction long before stalling the tractor..

Like said... Small bites at a time..

Most things are now days .. even if they do advertise Made in America. The build structure of it is pretty stoutly built! The only thing I'm having problems with is getting it QH compatible. My QH measures 27 3/8" inside to inside of bottom hooks, BB measures around 27" but the studs that stick out have the flange on them that gets in the way. I grinded that down a little on each side, I left enough meat to hold the studs securely. I had to take some meat off the back of the hooks also because of a welded support flanges on the box, Yes I could have taken some off of that but just in case I ever want to get rid of this box I didn't want it looking like it had been cut on.. plus the QH is cheaper and easier to replace.

The only problem now is the top hook, I have already replaced the hook with an extended one for my rear blade. It still does not work with this set-up, open to suggestions.. here's some pics, the flanges the hook fits into on the QH just barely fit inside the bb blade brackets. It makes it too tight plus with the pins in that hold the hook.. butts into the bb bracket keeping it from reaching the bushing to hook.

Krush - - just swingin' a little.

With an extended top hook, do you have enough room if you move the side straps to the top hole on the risers?

Will move the hook point back a little, but if you rock those risers back back a little, your longer top hook might still catch?

I have a KK 48" BB, and that's how I modified it to work with my HF QH.

Funny you should mention this because that's exactly what I had to do as you were probably typing this. Lol Is this what you meant?

It works.. will have to adjust top link most of the way out to level box for dragging and keeping front blade from cutting. I'm not sure it will level out before running out of threads on top link but at least I'm not fighting with that heavy azz thing. Man there was no way I was going to fight with that 3pt every time I needed it.😥
