Looking for a 3rd funtion valve for my L3901. There are multiples out there but would like to know the pros and cons from some users to narrow down my choice.

Summit hydraulic, land pride, or wr long.

Good bad ugly go!

First, I'm cheap and I don't mind using a lever for my grapple. 3rd function only works one thing. I needed Grapple, Hydraulic Top and Side links, so for less money, I added a 3 spool valve instead.

I can see the ease of 3rd function but not for the money...

Kubota OEM for me. My second machine with it and would not dare do LandPride or WR. I want it as clean and integrated as possible.

Of the three you mentioned there is no functional difference. They all use an industry standard D03 solenoid valve with a subplate mounted to the loader post. The joystick knob and button layout varies a bit with the different brands as does the placement of the quick couplers.

I would like to buy a Kubota B1653 kit, but it appears they are no longer available. Since I have a backhoe, the other kits may not fit properly and require things like a longer hose.

you should post WHAT the '3d function' is going to be used for......
while most may assume for a grapple, that may not be the case.
3rd function can be a TRUE 3rd function or a 'cheat' that 'selects' one of two functions.

I have the Summit Hydraulics kit and was absolutely not impressed with how they intend for the user to wire it in to the tractor. If I had a Kubota brand FLE instead of an Ansung the install would have taken under a half an hour. Since I had to modify all of the brackets to work with my FEL, it took me half of the day because I wanted it to fit super tight against the machine. I am pleased with the end result, but I am going to redo the wiring because I'm not happy with it.

I have the Land Pride and it's great. But it may not be the "best." Neil Messick's recent Youtube looking at different types makes the Kubota sound better in some ways. He has other helpful videos on 3rd functions including another brand he put on his tractor but this one is a comparison of brands, or at least OEM and Land Pride, link below.

Consider how the 3rd function activation buttons are installed. I am going to move mine from the front-facing position shown toward my right side. I'm always hitting the buttons by accident when I raise my loader and causing it to stutter.

WR Long - very happy with it, the controller is on the left side to be operated by my thumb. It would have been up to a multi-month wait for an LP unit; the WR Long arrived within 3 days. I bought my tractor and everything in my signature from my dealer; all was delivered to my property within 10 days.

Functionally, all of the quality 3rd function kits are probably the same. It is possible that an OEM kit would fit a bit more flush than the WR Long, but with the the inboard/tight set loader arms on an LX there is little advantage.

Elliott, I think Neil Messick has a video about putting a Long on his tractor.

I picked the OEM Kubota one for my LX because the piping to the torque tube on the loader where my Grapple connects is hard line rather than hoses.
My thought process is that the hard lines are tighter to the loader boom and less likely to get damaged by a branch or other debris that might come in contact with that area.

Also the pricing for it purchasing it thru whole goods (sales dept) rather than the parts dept. made the price almost identical to the LandPride version.

Unfortunately Kubota does not offer that enhancement for the L01s.
