Looking to purchase a 1986 Kubota KH-28L excavator. Everything works and runs digs great. The asking price is $9,500.00 is that a good price. He said he has some wiggle room since the tracks are worn and MIGHT have to be replaced soon, I am only going to dig up stumps and for my own personal use, nothing heavy.

I would jump all over that!

Good price and good unit.

And for what it's worth, it's not a grey market MINI EX, so getting parts and information is very easy!

So I bought the unit yesterday for $7500. needs lower rollers, upper rollers one sprocket and tracks. I found a company in Ohio that I can get rubber tracks to fit over the oem rollers for 700a pair, but I am still looking for rollers. Kubota wants 600 for each roller and 1400 for sprocket. Then I located a company here in NY that had the lower rollers for 140 and the sprocket for 340, now I need to find the upper roller, Kubota wants 590 each. Need help locating upper rollers, I have been on the internet and phone all morning. May have to bite the bullet and get it from Kubota

I'd suggest starting a new thread with that question, perhaps in the maintenance side.

But in general, it depends what you bought and what state it's in.

Some people would do all fluids and filters just so they know it's in good shape. But if you're sure the seller was up to date with services, no need to.

Similarly, makes sense to get the workshop manual and grease everything that should be greased. You have to do that regularly anyway, better to do it first up to get used to it.
