I guess my mower has lift blades. Bush hogging is a dirty mess here. Every time I cross my gravel driveway or a place under trees with not a lot of grass, I end up in a cloud of dirt/dust.
I have never experienced anything like it. I use the leaf blower on the tractor after working and also use it on ME...there is dirt everwhere.
Anybody else got this dirt problem and working in a cloud of dust problem?
Thanks, Pete in South MS:mad:

Yep, I get the same thing when I hit a dry dusty place.

Make sure the front of the hog is lower than the rear. May help a little. Other than that, can’t help you.

Same here, I've gotten used to giving the tractor a nice clean up after every time I go out cutting! [emoji16]

Just think of it, after mowing you're a "dirty blondie70"......
Sorry couldn't resist. I get the same thing here too, lots of dust. You might try lifting the mower some, it may reduce the dust, but it won't eliminate it.
I've noticed mowing early in the mornings helps with dust, if the dew is still on the ground. It's REALLY dusty on my zero turn.

I try to wait until the day after it rains to keep the dust down.

If I could afford it, I would get a cab tractor like they use for roadway cutting.

What about the blades on these things? Are they "lift blades"? I don't remember having this problem with my other tractor and cutter. I wonder if one can buy "regular" blades that don't pickup the dirt & debris and throw it everywhere ??????
I can have my cutter lifted all the way and cross the road and it acts like it's an airplane propeller blowing dirt everywhere.

I don’t think there are such a thing as “lift blades” for a rotary cutter.

The reason I asked is that my Cub Cadet mower has 'em. I have seen in a catalog that regular non lift blades are available for it. Wondering about the tractor's hog blades' availability.

You are correct about the blade for the Club Cadet but no such blade for the Bush Hog.

Land pride does in fact have a little bit of lift built into the blades. It creates air flow under the cutter deck which helps evacuate cuttings. Also helps stand the grasses up so that they are cut better. I do not know if they offer a straight blade or not. I haven't looked on their web page yet.

Above is correct, the 1260 does have a lift-style blade set, at least mine does. This particular model is probably the worst rotary cutter I have ever used. I will be replacing it ASAP.
