I have bought a used L35 from auction and it has a Baldwin B2 oil filter on it now. The B2 filter is as tall as the hydraulic oil filter, which has no identifying markings on it. The spec'd filter looks much shorter and I am wondering if I should go back to OEM or stay with the B2 when I replace. Any ideas or suggestions?

Any good suggestions for replacing the hydraulic filter?

I was going to buy this :
https://www.ebay.com/itm/SC-Kubota-L35-CFKIT-Maint-Filter-Kit-S-Air-Filter-No-Cab-Air-Filter/264118595027?hash=item3d7eb1edd3:g:Q3AAAOSwALlcL8aU

but I am concerned the filter doesn't look as deep as the existing filter.

In case the hyperlink didn't work here it is:

Thanks in advance for the advise!

I stick with kubota for the hydraulic filter. Personal choice. Available online or at your dealer. https://www.messicks.com/part/hh330-82630/hydraulic-filter

As far as oil I run a fleetguard LF3400 or Napa 1307, they are the proper size, spec, etc for our machines. B2 does not cross reference with the recommended filters for our machines.

Donaldson are high quality and Im sure you wouldnt have a issue with them if you do decide to use the ebay kit. The filters appear to be the proper size visually.

I a firm believer in Kubota brand filters, I've yet to have an issue with them! :)
I can not say the same for any of the off branded filters. :(

Baldwin B2 is a 3/4-16 thread oil filter.

Longer filter is just fine...
I suggest Wix 51515...

OEM HH164-32430 - Wix 51307
Slightly larger Wix 51085
Really big Wix 51515
Ginormous Wix 51773

For hydraulic, use Kubota filters...

A larger filter does not get your oil any cleaner so why use one? I am with NIW, have not had good results with the " It will screw on " aftermarket cans.
