Help with B6200 Hydraulic O-ring sizing

My 88 B6200 keeps foaming the hydraulic fluid, and from what I gather, it is most likely caused by a leak in the suction side of the pump. A day after using the tractor, the fluid looks fine ( no bubbles). Anyway, I want to replace the 4 o-rings in the suction tube in attached pic. I contacted my dealer, and they don't have them and to order I need to buy 10 each at $2.50 which is outrageous. If I had the size, I could probably buy them anywhere. Does anyone have an idea of their size? The parts diagrams don't mention size.

From the illustration it looks like a common banjo connection requiring copper washers not o-rings.

Sorry I can not help on the sizing.

copper sealing rings for sure. Just anneal the ones you already have and reinstall them. Copper work hardens but you anneal them and they are fine again.

Heat to dull red and allow to cool naturally. An electric stove element works very well. Lay them on the element and energize it, heating them to dull red. Then turn off the element and allow everything to cool.

Back in the day I made lots of copper gaskets for 600# steam for inlets on steam turbines. Procedure was to heat to dull red, then quench in water.

Quench or natural cool, either way works fine. The crystaline grain structure in brass, copper or a non ferrous alloy relaxes (get soft) around 800 degrees (f).

In technospeak, it's called 'normalizing'.

Several before me have steered you right off a cliff... enjoy the crash. :p

They are O-Rings, not copper washers, feel free to heat them up as they will provide a nice little fire for about 30 seconds. ;)

I might also suggest that you buy a new filter screen while your in there.

If your dealer is saying $2.50 for 10 of them, jump all over it, they sell for $.76 and $1.31 a piece here.
I have a ton of general size O-ring kits and kubota throws in such odd sized O-rings that it's just not worth trying to get them aftermarket.

Very strange......Messicks also does list them as rubber o-rings. However, after disassembly, they are indeed copper sealing rings.

Thanks for reporting back and confirming the material.

Hope the repair solved your issue.

Thank you for your brilliant observation!

Yes folks, as genius and all knowing SidecarFlip pointed out, I was wrong again!

Why I have no clue as I can only go by my thousands of manuals and blue prints that I have in front of me.

Is it possible that someone changed it to copper rings after the OEM setup, who knows.

I'm sure stranger things have happened before....

Despite the chiding, I still value your knowledge...:)

Im with Wolfman on this one cause I just replaced two Rubber O-Rings on the forward end of my B6000 suction pipe. That is what was in there when I took it apart and new Rubber O-Rings went back in on reassembly. No leaks or bubbles in the hydraulic fluid.
