I picked up a Landpride SGC0660 today for my L2501.
It was crated with the hose kit in a bag.

I just wanted to double check with the hydraulic gurus that with these style of fittings no hydraulic pipe dope sealant is required.
The female quick disconnect appears that a rubber o ring is used to seal the connection? While the 90 degree fittings rely on the tapered cone to seal the connection?
I do know ahead of time that teflon tape is a big NO-NO on hydraulic lines.

I wouldn't put anything on those threads. I've heard of people lubing them up with WD-40 before assembly. Only reason to do anything else would be if there was a concern they would come loose from vibration.

Have regular fittings on my grapple, not flat face. Biggest problem I had was getting the connections tight on the "T" fittings, hose would unscrew from cylinder. Tighten cylinder hose, "T" fitting would loosen ect. The hoses are secured in the U channel with 1/4" bolts. Lost one and used a grade 2 bolt. The hoses flex in the channel and bent the grade 2 bolt no problems with a grade 8.

On an O-ring fitting you really don't need anything.
But I personally do use teflon pipe dope on every fitting just to make sure. ;)

Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions guys!
I have the hose kit on, no leaks and working fine.

I will keep an eye on the tee fittings, thank you.

I have an 8 ft Land Pride plow blade, the hydraulic connections are teflon taped from the factory, or maybe the dealer..

Dealer...and CDA Kubota doesn't have the brightest bunch working there from the work that I've seen them do!

Refit with loctite 545 if you do have a leak. Threaded connections only. Connections with O-Rings shouldn’t need it unless you do have a problem with loosening vibration. 545 stays pliable if you do need to take it apart again.

545 also worked great on my new air compressor fittings.

Nothing needed for the two you show. The taper pipe thread (not shown) is a whole can of worms. One tip on jic is if they are over tightened they can leak, and get distorted. I snug them up and would rather retighten than ruin the fitting. People are always complaining about new tractor fittings being loose. Oring seals always get looser over time because the rubber deforms. Jic can as well but its an easy snug up. The lesser of two evils if you will…

That's a negative Ghostrider.
The O ring on an ORB (O ring boss) fitting does the sealing. Threads are straight SAE. No taper. Tapered threads (like black pipe) are tapered so the threads seal.
The "flared" fitting (or JIC) has two sealing surfaces, the male and female, that are matched. When pressed together by the threaded nuts, they form a sealed surface. Much like a ferrule on a pipe or a pro-press.
Applying dope to the threads of either won't hurt anything but....don't go ham fisted. The dope will lubricate the threads and you can over torque them. That can distort the sealing surface.
West Virginia Fit-All wrenches will easily get those tight enough to seal.

I appreciate the further thoughts but as stated above, 3 plus years ago, 😉 the hose kit is installed and leak free.
