l4200 an l3250 time to make one tractor!!

well this is my kinda blog, to my swap.... so i bought a l3250 2wd it came with a front end loader, guy told me engine was toasted so i pulled it apart an crank was toasted..... so i started a looking for an engine v2203di.... called every where under the sun...


an i found a whole tractor for cheap gst l4200 v2203di 4x4 ... guy said the thow out bering is stuck also 3 pt lift is not working but engine runs good.... so loaded it up hard to drive with not clutch.. got home drained the fuild it was brown fuild..... i know l4200 got alot of gst problems.... but engine runs good also it has good 4x4 on the front of it....

what would yall do pull the engine out of the l4200 swap it to l3250


or would yall fix the l4200 4x4 an put the front end loader on it.....

L4200 hands down, and I've never heard of specific GST issues with the L4200's.
IMHO, that is one of the tougher GST's that they made.

What exactly is it doing or not doing, and yes fluid quality has a ton to do with the action of the transmission!

L4200 hands down, and I've never heard of specific GST issues with the L4200's.

looks like clutch fork is stuck, needs a good cleaning also its not a gst it a FST tranny


also not lift is not working in the back.....

Maybe HST? (which to me stands for Hydrostatic Transmission)

I thought maybe, but they didn't offer a HST for that model either.

A I hope for his sake it's not a F-GST as that's not 4wd like he stated.

GST= Glide shift transmission, think of it as a semi-automatic transmission, you can shift any gear to any gear at anytime and the clutch is not used to shift between gears.

its a shifter on the left side like a car shifter, it has 1234 so it a l4200dt model

Yep a DT.
A GST would be N12345678.
today i started to split it today.., i notice cluch rod had dirt in the other side where the plug is..... also the bottem drain was stoped up.... im going to post pics of it... also the handle of the right side the steering wheel im not sure what that for it looks like they Discontented it .. this was a state owned tractor....

Right side lever is throttle, left side is shuttle.

so i decided fixing the l4200..... SEALS WENT OF ON 4X4 SHAFT, its been sitting for a few years never had the fix on it, had get the flywheel turned,new clutch an throw out bering, clutch road ... it was clutch housing was full of rust hear are some pics
