No NRA presence either which I find disturbing in as much as the NRA's headquarters is in Virginny. Not good (for the NRA) in mm view but then I belong to GOA.

ditto on absence of NRA...

Wonder if the turnout would've been better if it didn't conflict with SHOT? perhaps, some more vocal support if they all weren't on their way to Vegas?

The NRA really missed the boat on this one. If the gun grabbers keep getting their way, the SHOT show will be exactly that...... shot as in no more.

Like I said, I'm a GOA member and an NRA member but that mat change.

As reported on the nightly news here: Not only were there thousands of guns, many of which were fully loaded and not one shot fired.....but when the peaceful rally ended the protesters actually "policed the grounds" and cleaned up the place on their way out! Guess the media had the group pegged wrong yet again.

The media today usually has it wrong from what I see (and read). Getting so I don't believe what I read or hear unless I see it with my own eyes and hear it with my own ears. Not many credible journalists left today.

Over 20,000 people, no incidents other than one report of someone arrested for not removing a mask (don't know if that's actually true). Not only were the masses civil, they cleaned up after they were done- they left the capital cleaner than it was when they got there. Pretty remarkable.

Remarkable depends on your frame of reference I guess. It's pretty par for the course for any gun owner's rights rally I've been to at our capital. If you compare it to Antifa or occupy wherever, any behavior that doesn't involve throwing your own poo seems remarkable.

I was going to comment about that same thing last night. The fact that ANTIFA didn't show up on Monday. I suppose they figured they probably couldn't get away with their typical protesting practices with Mondays' attendees.

There is some truth to the saying. An armed society is a polite society.

It actually did a LOT of good, though probably not reported as such....

1) it allowed a LOT of Americans the opprotunity to SHOW their support for a cause and NO ONE got hurt, no property destroyed, no broken glass, no rits, etc.

2) it SHOWED that some americans CAN peacefully protest

3) it showed that legally armed Americans don't kill each other

Wanted to go myself to stand with them, but its a ways from Maine and leaving the house that long in Jan. But did call a gun shop down there and bought two 30 rd. AR mags for them to give to a customer. Just wanted to show some support.

I recently understood what Antifa was.....scary bunch...:(

That's why they wouldn't show in Richmond.

My father would call them Banty Roosters. Aggressive until confronted... The shoe could be on the other foot with some serious firepower..;)

That's why I keep a pump short-barreled 12 gauge shotgun handy....everyone knows the sound of that pump-action working...:)

(Plus, I can't hit anything with a handgun.....Don't tell anybody...:p)
