My steering wheel center cap popped off when I was doing loader work in 4wd the other day. The largest of the three tines on the cap is broken. I don't believe my L3560 has a horn, there's no horn symbol on the cap.

Is there any issue with just tapping the cap back in, like could the broken tab piece be interfering with something below the steering wheel?

If I got a new cap like I'd be entitled to under warranty, the steering wheel would have to be removed to install it. I'd have to pay the Dealer to come out or haul it in to do that, not sure it's worth that.

Same thing happened on my l3560 except the cap was lost. Just bought a new cap and popped it on, no need to remove the steering wheel.

If you cannot afford the cap (10 bucks), I'm flabbergasted and I don't believe Kubota would cover it though your dealer might as a goodwill gesture.

Kubota learned there parts pricing from Mercedes, that scrap of plastic is 23.78. The third function switch on a b2650 is $170, its a switch you can buy from a good electrical supply house for $30 and a 3 foot harness.

Flip, you obviously have not priced them!

Take the cap up off the slots, put a touch of black rubber adhesive around the outside edge and set in back in place.

You are correct, I did not. I assumed (wrongly I guess) that a blow moulded plastic part wouldn't cost that much, obviously I was wrong, but then the main shift boot (a small black rubber boot) was cheap and it was 27 bucks with no clamps, just the boot. Kubota OEM parts are all over the place in prices. Some you can pick up aftermarket, some you cannot. Like tie rod ends for my M's. Kubota OEM are 175 bucks each, aftermarket are 50. Needless to say, I went aftermarket and don't ask how much the inner radial joint costs OEM because that is scary.

Should be able to find that bezel online aftermarket or at a salvage place.

I just re-installed the one that came out even though one of the tines had broken off. Tapped it in with a rubber mallet. The problem with putting in a new one is that I didn't find the broken part of the tine, and it might still be in the steering wheel.

With one tine off and no adhesive, it will come up missing one of these days!! Especially if you haul it on a trailer.

Bingo.

I "glued" mine back on with black RTV.

Same thing happened to my L6060.

Dealer gave me a new one under warranty and I found the "lost" one about a month later so I now have a spare.

I sealed mine back on with black RTV.

You're right as others have said too. I can see it loosening every time I use it. I just tap it down occasionally. I don't trailer it. I don't want to adhesive it and have to deal with that if the steering wheel needs to be removed some day, my choice.
