Hey guys i have a old L275 going to do a service but the manual shows a glass sight glass but mine has none so not sure how to check fill level thanks

I'm assuming you're referring to the transmision. There is a check plug on the side of the transmission under your left foot, fill until oil comes out of it. The plug usually has some yellow paint on it.

There are several drain plugs with some on vertical surfaces below the axle.

There is also a screen filter that needs to be cleaned or replaced

I worry what manual your using.
Get the right manual off kubotabooks.com and look at that version for the drain plugs, and level plugs, dip sticks, or sight glass.

The screen filter if similar to my L185 is on left side and is long Mine has my exhaust pipe nearby and I have to remove a clamp. 2 bolts hold a cover plate.
I pull it after I have drained trans fluid and clean it with solvent usually gas.
Hope this helps.
PS my trans fluid check plug is painted red.

The use of gas for cleaning is a dangerous practice and there are non-explosive solvents to use.

I usually have gas, but it's not to clean with. Usually the opposite...lol

Mineral spirits or non chlorinated brake cleaner.

On my l185 I have two filter screens since I bought a new one for my first fluid change since I was concerned that the existing filter may have been damaged or too dirty to clean.

One is used and one is out of the tractor.

So I just have the luxury of cleaning the filter in a parts cleaning gallon can (gunk carb and parts cleaner) by just letting it soak for some time.

For oily/greasy jobs “Gunk” branded engine cleaner does well and then mildly sprayed-off with a garden hose. (WalMart makes a similar engine cleaner that’s less than $2/can.)

For small, critical jobs, I use CRC Electronic Cleaner aerosol can. Does an amazing job and won’t hurt plastic or paint.
