Hi,

I recently bought a used BX2200 from 2000/2001. After working with it for a little while, I managed to get the hand brake pedal stuck and cannot lock/unlock the brake pdeal. I think the tractor also has a problem with its brakes since I can still drive around with no loss of speed.

How do I get this hand brake pedal unstuck ? Anyone has this problem ?

Thanks,

Nick,

Nick,
Is yours the type that you push the brake peddal down and at the same time ingagne the lever? If this is the case push down as hard as you can on the brake peddal and lift up on the lever. This should work and it could be the return spring is broken. If you crawl under the tractor you should be able to see the lever with several teeth that ingage the brake.

The tractor will drive around with the brake set and you will not notice it. Remember the parking brake is to hold the tractor at rest but the diesel engine can easily overcome this. People have added extra switches and lights to alert them of the brake being set before driving off. It's a very common thing.

Thats why I love Kubota's old school kick style parking break. Just kick the snot out of the petal to release the break.

I know he wasn't there because I was, and I didn't see him.

AWE CRAP, I mean he wasn't there because MY FRIEND was there and he said he wasn't there. Yeah that's what happened, that's how it went down.

BX2200 - Hand brakes stuck

After sitting a couple of rainy months my BX2200 parking brakes are stuck. The pedal released but it's obviously dragging, especially in high range. I haven't tried the "kick the pedal a few times" maneuver. If it ever stops raining here in the mountains I'll climb under the rascal and look for the lever with teeth on it. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance
