Tire chains. Type and source?

I use Valby Talon studded ice chains, from Northeast Implement-ice chains, they were expensive, here in Canada I paid $500 over 10 years ago. Well worth it they work great o my Kubota B7510

I would go with the 3/4 ones, that way a little extra pressure on a stud won't cause an issue!

I just installed sheet metal screws in my industrial tires on my bx,, worked well so far, I started in the middle and worked out in a V using every second lug , I used bolt cutters on them, to make them about 5/8 long ends were touched up flat in the grinder, and they went in no problem. fronts I made a 1/2" long

Part of my driveway is at a 10% grade, (to be changed this next summer) with the studs in mine I can crawl up and down a now 1" thick ice sheet without a problem. You'll love it when you get it set up!

Wolfman, do you just have them on the front or back to. I placed an order for 3/4" but they came back a few days later saying they were out of stock. They had 5/8's in stock so I settled for them...hope they work.

I just have them on the front's, I have an odd set of shallow double treaded low profile flotation tires on the rears. I have chains for them but need wheel spacers to clear the fenders. I also still need to ballast them.
They have proven to give me excellent traction on both the snow and Ice.

My studs came in today and they are now in the tires. Looks like i'm just in time...another storm coming mid week.

When we got nasty Ice I could get around everywhere with no problems.

Howdy all!!
I'm new to the Kubota world... I just bought a 92 B7100 with 400 hours on it. It has AG type tires on it. Any idea where I can find chains for my tires? Thanks for any help!

B7100 chains are easy, go get a set of diamond link chains for a truck.
33x10.5x15 will fit the tires you have.

One exception is if you have rice tires (really tall tread) no chains will work on those, or non well.

I put #14(1/4")x5/8 slotted hex head sheet metal screws in my R1s. The hex head is a 3/8 wrench size. Traction is awesome! I used 2 screws per bar on the front, 3 per bar on the rear.

The rear tires are doing fine, but several screws have pulled out of the front tires. I don't know if it is the smaller diameter of the tire, or possibly a softer rubber. It was the center screws that pulled out. 3/4" screws might hold better.

I just ordered a hundred Grip Studs (#1800) for the front. They are about $1.15 on ebay, $1.02 at Saltwater Edge. I doubt they will pull out. Even at $1.15 they cost much less than diamond pattern chains. "They" claim you can screw them out in the spring, or just leave them in. Time will tell...

I check mine after every run and they are holding up very well...haven't lost one yet. I have noticed that the back end is breaking loose at times so I may just stud them also.
