Mounting/removing the MMM. For sure, hands down, the #1 situation that makes me swear. Other than that, I couldn't be happier. :)

Why not offer to help him build some kind of containment area for his trash cans. Then you solve the problem, have an opportunity to be a good coach, and end up with a good neighbor....not someone you mumble about under your breath every time you see them.
That would probably be the right thing to do if they had a couple small cans where the trash blew out all the time but we are supplied with a rather large trash can with a lid that stays connected. Usually their trash doesn't blow out but according to the trash of theirs I picked up their daughter must of had a birthday party and they had more trash than usual. Therefore it was piled on top of the can where the lid would not close. We get a lot of wind out here and it blows from their yard into mine. If the opposite would have happened I would have picked up all my trash the day I saw it happen but instead he choose to go fishing instead of cleaning up his mess. Laziness is a pet peeve of mine. Next it happens I'll knock on the door hand them a trash bag and politely ask them to clean up their mess...

Reminded me of a funny story.
Years ago, I lived in Parsippany NJ. They supplied all the residents these giant brown paper bags to fill with leaves. Once a week, a garbage truck was to come through and collect them.
I had a tiny place, maybe 1/3 acre, possibly smaller, but it was filled with monstrous oak trees. So in a week, I could easily pack a dozen bags.
Filled on Sunday, Monday pickup. No show. No show all week. Following Sunday, I fill another dozen bags. Monday, no show. Tuesday, I called Public works. They had in the past been very responsive to residents. The head of public works got on the phone, was very apologetic, told me they'd be picked Wed. and that he'd check at lunch time to ensure it was done. Fine. I get home Wed. night, bags still there. Thursday, I called back, the guy was kissing my behind with apologies. Hr told me they would be gone on Friday. I told him if they were there Friday night, I was going to take them to his office and barricade the entrance to the building with them. Friday night I got home, they were still there. So that Saturday, I put the bags in my pickup truck and took them to his building. Which was right next door to the dump where they had this massive grinding machine that turned all the lawn debris into powder. I could of taken them to the dump (it would of been easier to toss them in a machine VS. carry them up steps and pile up in front of a door but I had a point to make. Of course he called me Monday and again apologized, acknowledging I had warned him if he failed again, the consequences. The bags I put out that Monday were picked up. At the end of the week, I came home from work and my lawn and been raked, aerated, overseeded and fertilized. Tress had dead branches removed. The place looked great. My neighbor came over on Saturday and asked me how I got the entire township public works crew to come to my home and do all the work. I called teh head of public works on Monday and thanked him for all the work he had his guys do. He told me he owed it to me for my patience.
A few years later, I had a runoff issue of water from the street. Only a real problem when the snow was deep, preventing the water from flowing and it backed up into my boiler room. I called public works and asked if they could look into it. The following day, a guy was at my house, asking questions, a survey crew siting things. Four days later, the street was reshaped, curbs installed. Bang!
Parsippany NJ, not the best location in the world (intersection of Rt. 80 and 287) had a slightly crooked mayor but, nice, honest cops and a public works dept that could not be beat.

That's a good story. Hahaa

Here's one for you, just got home to mow before it rains. The neighbor had just finished mowing and guess what, he mowed over the his own trash in his yard instead of picking it up first. Unbelievable.... Timing couldn't be better to go along with my story. This is the back yard, front looks worse. Lol

I have a colleague who works in the state transportation dept. as an environmental specialist. I always yank his chain when the crews have gone down the highway median mowing tall grass without removing any trash so it's shredded all over the place. He HATES that and makes it quite clear to the road crews on a regular basis. Some people you just can't figure out.

As for tons of leaves...I'm a compost nerd, I'll admit it. Leaves are slow but given two years, they can make some wonderful fluffy stuff called leaf mold (mould as the Brits would say). Pile them up in a circular wire fence enclosure, smash them down, add more till it's full and forget about it. Turn it once if you want, after one year. It will shrink down to only a few inches high, but the stuff is glorious.

Benhameen, based on your picture and description of your neighbor, I think if he ever catches any fish he'll just nip the line and release then. He surely won't do anything that would require bringing them home!! He'd have to get the hook out of their mouth and eventually have to clean them.

There is a saying, "Fences make good neighbors." Might be one way to control his free blowing trash.

Just hooked up my MMM today for the maiden "finish cut" mowing of the season. Ive been Hogging it all to tame it last season. Holy Jumped up Jesus, I now know why my old neighbor built a dolly for shoving his deck under the tractor. I already have 2 bulging discs, and just strained my hip flexer at hockey Sun night. Wound using a digging bar to pry it under inch by inch. I also remembered- too late, why my old neighbor always hooked up PTO before anything else. I hope Im that smart when I hit 80...

Hit the PTO lever and release the clutch....... Only to find out my spindles likely need new bearings. God was that loud. Get to yank it back out tomorrow and pull the spindles!!! Yaaaay!!!

Wow, Ben.

Not to highjack the thread, but when we moved here 25 years ago, our neighbor across the road burned all his garbage. Stunk like hell, and was surprised his adjacent neighbors didn't bitch. He was a 6'6", 280 lb biker, but a good guy. I'm only 6'4" and 240.

After burning Friday night, Saturday morning he was on his porch having a smoke. I marched across the road and told him it NEEDED TO STOP.

All was civil, and he stopped burning. We were great friends and neighbors until they moved away many years later.

Moral of the story: You need to confront your neighbor, but in a very FIRM, nice way. Young or not, no excuse.

Best wishes, Ben. Good Luck.

Freaking hilarious! Then after mowing, and the grass being low, he STILL did not police the area. Priceless!:D

One of these on your tractor, and, if you're generous, buy one for him, too.

I mix grass clipping and leaves over two years in a pile. I'll run the tiller through it a few times a year to aerate it. After the pile is four years old, it is pure 'black gold' and goes in the garden beds. Real 'Miracle Grow'.
So I always have two or three piles 'brewing.'

I put hydraulic steering on my B8200. Cost about $250, 15 years ago. Got all the parts, cylinder, hoses, valve, steering column, steering wheel off of a 20HP Toro being parted out on Ebay.

I used my column and steering wheel, so you can't tell it's not factory by looking at the tractor. I had to fab a bracket to mount one end of the cylinder to the tractor frame. I also did some modifying to attach the tie rod end.

Works excellent. I have some steering parts from the B8200 because the steering box was fine I just wanted power steering.

1. The MMM mounting on the BX2360 is somewhat difficult, but I've become more proficient over the years. Also, the mower ejects the clippings in a windrow, instead of spreading them out to mulch. If I had to do it all over again, I think I would go with a 3pt finish mower.
2. Getting the PTO shaft on the rear is not easy with the shaft guard in the way, sitting on the tiller, and making sure the coupling ring is pulled all the way back, with the spring not overlapped. I think I will make a clip to hold the ring back while shoving it on the shaft. I guess my hands are just too big for that little space.
3. Not entirely pleased with the front dozer blade quick-mount. Lost a few of the pins that go in the release lever cam. The "nose" of the quick mount is getting sloppy in the socket as well. Also, the lift cylinder has leaked since day one. Dealer fixed it once, lasted about 6 months.
4. The tach/ hour meter died early on. Not enamored of the replacement price, so I think I will include a new one with the planned gauge updates (oil pressure, coolant temp, tach)
5. Both ears on the plastic engine shroud broke early on (solved the problem by using a large fender washer under the tri-corner knob).

Having said all of that, I have done things with this tractor I never thought it could do. I wouldn't trade it for anything, except maybe a larger 'bota!

I have a BX2360 that I bought new in December 2011 and it has a little over 300 hours on it. While blowing snow this past winter it started kicking out and then back in 4 wheel drive. I took it to the dealer and they quoted me $ 1,300. to $ 1,400. to diagnose the problem and then an additional unknown cost to actually make the repairs. It's out of warrantee and the service mgr at the dealer recommended that I call the Kubota representative, which I did and I felt that he just blew me off.
I paid about $ 20,000. for this tractor, cab and attachments and I expected it to work better than this. I also expected Kubota to stand behind their product.
I own another Kubota tractor/backhoe and have owned others and have not run into a problem like this before.
My friend said trade it for a Mahindra and another friend said trade it for a John Deere. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Any other dealers nearby? That price sounds crazy, but I'm new at this. Hopefully someone here can help diagnose for free. You might want to post it in the Service/Repair subforum if you haven't already.

B8200-lack of power steering-no kits available
Looks like D2 cat fabbed something up and was able to make it work.

I actually put power steering on my B9200 (manual steering) by installing a B2150 power steering box (used) as well as the steering arm, and the factory Kubota B2150 power steering lines. Worked mint, like factory...just needed to buy longer studs to bolt the box down to the bellhousing because the B9200 box was "thinner" than the B2150 power steering one.

To my knowledge, the B8200 is almost identical to the 9200 besides the motor so you can likely do the same thing on your B8200.

JackJ: Thanks I'm new to the forum and have posted it to the service and repair forum. My other local dealer was not very happy when I bought the BX-2360 from his competitor, so I'm reluctant to go back there.

Joeshot, that's the very reason I WOULD go back there. "My other local dealer was not very happy when I bought the BX-2360 from his competitor, so I'm reluctant to go back there."

If he wines or complains he drive you away for good, but it gives you a chance to show him you're a real person with decision making abilities, and if he doesn't give you a competitive price there are other places to shop!!

Then you both win. He sharpens his pencil and get additional business, you get competitive pricing.
