Hello,
I am newbie at this wonderful site for gary market kubota little tractors.
I have read so much information for l1500 that obtained recently.
It is very good condition except reverse function and steering assembly that needs to be replaced.
As you see the pictures, the reverse gear is bad and main gear as well but not as reverse gear.
any members can tell me how to bent reverse shift fork or ??? for more enguage to the main gear after replace the gear?
Thanks
Jkk

Those pictures look like they could have been taken of the gears that came out of my tractor.
I have never heard of bending shift forks to get better engagement, I guess it's possible. Just replace all the gears and put it back together and be careful when you shift it and they should last quite a while.

Looking forward to watching your progress.

Hi, Bill. Thank you for replying.
Other confusion that it bring up is when I removed top cover, no interlock balls on the rails. But the l175 service manual described (according this site say it is same as l1500)

Do you know originally the l1500 model has inter lock balls?
Thank you

ps. I apologize that I have some language barrier

It is another frustration.:confused::confused:
Probably lost them long time ago.
Is it necessary to be on the rails?
And do you have any picture for locating the balls?

Also, do you have any easy way the forks back on the gears then set top plate on?

It is small world. Somerset is about 10 miles from where I live.
Thank you

Is this a picture of your transmission?

If it is, the balls will be under the 3 springs on the top.
and transmission in neutral and shifter in neutral will let everything line up.

Finally, received the reverse gear.
But it is 9/16" longer than existing.
Any members in here can verify it is ok to install it?
Thank you

Well that is odd, I can't tell you if it will work or not. Where did you get that from?

I'm pretty sure the transmission is identical to a L 175 here in the states

It took some digging around in the snow, in the scrap metal pile but this is the one I took out of my L 1500, and the one I put in was identical....
Thank you so much for pictures.
That gear size is same as my existing gear.
I like to know where you got it?
Thank you

Nope, most grey market tractors will have different transmission parts and PTO gear parts.
Sometimes only subtle differences, like in this case gear length.

jkk04,
If the only difference is the length, and you can't get the right one without spending a lot more $$, have that one cut down.

Fortunately, the seller recognized sent wrong gear and accept return it for refund.
I will order it through the site that you meant because it is OEM gear.
will update.
Thank you again Bill and wolfman.

I am so glad having so much rain this year in northern California where has been 5 years drought.
Hope no more to say drought.

little more progress in rainy day here beside reverse gear.

1} replaced pto seal, head lamp bulb, horn, touch up paint.
2) hour meter fixed(the tip was broken in the assembly so I welded to make some point and grinded to make tip like flat driver inserting to the end of camshaft slot. Works very good.
3) fabricated to extend the fuel filter bracket for adding shut off valve that fuel tank doesn't have. It was so inconvenient to take out fuel tank without spiling and replacing filter in future(the line between tank and filter bracket was too short to add valve so extended bracket about 2" )

will updating more
jkk
