I have a G2000 all wheel steering mower with the RC60-G20 deck. The gear box on the deck locked up. I took the top off and half of the bearings were gone. Anybody have one or know someone who can re-build it?

I had a gentleman at smith mountain lake have the spindle on that model go out, not sure if it was the gear box, I think it was the spindle, lack of grease - he could not get under it well enough to grease it - thought he was on the zerk but not! - well he is 80!

might try messicks or others for rebuild parts? got pictures?

Will try to get some pics later today. Local dealer wants $685 for a new one. The bearing and gear set for a re-build is $440.

Thanks, I would like to find a gearbox for what I have. Not sure if your box would work on my deck.

The price difference between the rebuild kit and a new one with a warranty, I would go for the new one.

I rebuilt mine using a 20 ton press. I reused the gears and put the same spacers back in the same spot. I just replaced all the bearings. Mine was getting noisy but not locked up. Works great now.

Thanks, I do not have access to a press. Thought about buying one a 15 ton. I might check on just the bearings. The top bearing is what went bad.
