^^ bulldog has a good point.

we do mainly haul cars, trucks, tractors, big mowers & equipment on mine..

if we had been looking to haul motorcycles, hay, cows or furniture? would of for sure went with a fixed trailer.

its all purpose driven.

it also seems that with a crew cab truck that the 20' trailer axles hit the bumps at the "right" time with the truck axles for a good ride verses feeling something hit like a washboard.

Not sure how I missed this thread till now, but I have a friend with a JD and a tilt bed trailer. (8'x14'?) The JD has a FEL, and he usually takes a rear blade & a box blade when he goes out on jobs. Took some experimentation, but he found sweet spots to set the box & rear blades to the side, box blade to the rear. He marked the locations where they need to be with paint so he can easily repeat placing them. The trailer stays tilted down, and when he drives the tractor on, it tilts forward as it should. Weight distribution is good, so it tows well.
