Went to replace my tailight bulb only to discover that the “socket” appears to have totally melted. The housing is also damaged. Can’t get the bulb out. Will be contacting the dealer, but wondering if anyone else has experienced this?? I’ve had halogen bulb sockets in my camper melt a little bit, but they were still functional and bulb could still be replaced. This one is pretty glued in there...

was that the orig. factory or Kubota OEM bulb, or was that an aftermarket bulb?

Ouch, haven't seen it on my BX2360, which should be similar vintage.

Now that I think about it, haven't looked either as they're both working.

I seldom use headlights/taillights. Do you use yours a lot?

I've thought about changing hazards and taillights to LED's. Maybe I'll move that to a higher priority. Did headlights a couple years ago.

Are those a common auto bulb type?

PS - jkcolo, I looked up the parts, the taillight looks like it's a 912 auto bulb. The hazards are 1156. Both are the same as my BX2360.

Should be able to get them many places, and should be able to find LED's. Both types are available on amazon..these are just examples:

Good enough reason to go full LED bulbs... they dont get hot.

This melted one looks like the socket shorted and got hot.
Only other thing that could do that, is a bulb not seated properly in the housing itself and laying against the plastic.

I would just replace the whole unit, install LED`s and be done with it.

Not particularly. I run them when I’m snow plowing and have to go out on the road to turn back around to my driveway. Definitely not excessive use.

I believe the bulb is Type “912”. This the he bulb that Messicks sent me.

I've changed all my bulbs out for LED's, far less heat.
And funny note: I parked my tractor at a job, left the Flashers running for about a week, hit the key and it started right up, talk about shocked!

Yep, I'm about the same. Probably use hazards more than anything.

See my PS above in my other message..

I agree on the bulb type. I might get LED hazards also, before I have an issue.

So, have I (with the exception of the headlight bulbs) on both my M's. The only issue I had was with the hazard flasher. Had to change to an electronic flasher unit.

Besides, if they are good LED's they should outlast the tractor.

Our RV is all LED and so is my pickup truck including the headlights.

The first work lights I put on my BX were 2 halogens. Tractor would "grunt" when I fired them up. Would melt the snow off...might have seen steam sometimes....:)

With 4 LED's...lot more light, and it doesn't phase it when I hit the switch.:)

I pasted a link for LED's for another member recently. I think they were 2.3w, compared to 25w OEM, with many more lumens.

Thanks. I was looking for LEDs but got frustrated trying to figure out the bulb type until I got the bag and it says it right there.

so I klick the link, klic on 'sellers( in blue)'...
and get this message...

Currently, there are no sellers that can deliver this item to your location.

...
Not the first time Amazon has told me this..

It'd be nic eto contact the 'sellers' and tell them THEY have lost a LOT of sales because of Amazon.
