Hi,
I have an L185 and was looking for a FEL. I found an L225 w/FEL and a blown tranny. I'd like to be able to use the back half of the L185 and the front half of the L225.

I really like the L185 but the extra power from the L225 would be a big advantage. I could try to fix the tranny in the L225 but a swap would be simpler.

L185
s/n L185-50659
Eng. Z 751-A
17 hp
Trans 4 sp
Diff 2 sp
pto 3 sp

L225
s/n 14324
Eng. D1100-A
24 hp
Trans 4 sp
Diff 2 sp
pto 2 sp

Will the "clutch housing" from my L185, p/n 37150-1411-2 (i'd call it the trans housing) bolt up to the flywheel housing on the L225? I've taken measurements of the bolt spacing and it looks like it will fit to me.

If they won't bolt up, will the flywheel housing from the L185 bolt up to the D1100-A engine?

Is the back half of my L185 beefy enough to hold up to the extra 7 hp from the L225?

Do you see any problems that I don't?

Should I just chuck the whole idea and try to mount the FEL on my L185?

Any insight will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom
