Any one with a bx 2230. I need to know the front tire size and make of a lug tire. Mine has turf tires and I want to change to lug, but I can not find the same size.. 18 8.50 8.

I think your tractor should have 18-8.50-10. the 8 inch wheel is for the bx1830. The rears should be 24-12-12.

The rears are 26 12 12, but the fronts are 18 8-50 8. That is what was on it when I bought it. It's about an '04 model.

murphy,, I had the 9-50 on this winter. I could really tell the difference in the load when 4wd was engaged. For some stupid reason, I did not know I had 9-50 instead of 8-50 untill I took them off this week and was compareing diameter. The 9-50 is a taller tire. I was trying to figure out rollout distance and my mechanic said, " You've got 2 different size tires between the turf and ag." A 9 is 3/4th of an 8 when you can't see good.!!! I've been all over the web and can only find 1 place that has them. It's an auction co, and they have 4 tires and wheels but the wheels are not Kubota. The tires are Maxxis, but I can not find that size anywhere on the web, even on there site.

You are also going to increase the diameter or the RC of the rear tires when you swap all four to lugs. The rears in AGs will be taller.

You really need to look at the RC of the new tires then compare to the existing tires.

rc,,, rollout circumference????? The rear ag tire I have is actually smaller allthough it has the same size # on the sidewall as the turf. It's 1 1/4 inches less in diameter that the turf tire, oe. The ag front is 3/4 inch larger in diameter than the turf tire, oe. That creates too much lead pull.

Look to the rolling circumference when inflated, are you measuring the tire without it being on the rim and inflated?

All measurementsare taken on the tractor and inflated. I jus tfound a 16 6-50 8 that makes the difference from the front to rear only 1/4 of an inch . In other words, the difference between the diamater of the front and rear on the factory turf tires is 7 3/8 inch. The lug tires difference is 7 5/8. I think that's close enough to work. Of all places to find the tire,,, Summitt Raceing!!!

gundoctor,, the 18 9-50 8 is what i had on it this past winter, it was way too much lead pull, (front tire pulling more than the rear when in 4wd). Not a problam if you don't use 4wd.
