Smaller 3 spreader for sand, maybe salt? Other recommendation?

Hi all,

We have a very large 3 point broadcast spreader we use for our fields. We would like small (and less expensive) one for putting sand, and maybe salt, on our driveway. Anyone have any recommendations?

Post Update - I had originally suggested a 3 point unit. Further research suggests I might find a smaller and more affordable unit by pursuing a receiver hitch spreader?

Thanks!

I have a large one as well, but ASC sells them in various sizes and capacities with steel and poly tubs.

Agri-Fab has electric (12 volt) ones as well.

I have a small electric spreader that I intstalled an on/off switch and a mount for my quick hitch. I’ve spread all kinds of stuff with it. Including salt on my drive way. I did use a plastic gaurd to keep the salt from being thrown on my tractor. I’ll dig through my pic to see if I have any. Also, there’s an extra electrical plug under My L3800s left fender, That was really handy.

Not sure what you consider small. I have a Land Pride FSP500 that works great at spreading sand on my driveway. I haven't used it for salt or fertilizer as of yet but I'm sure it would work great for that. It uses the PTO to run it.

Hey Skeets, a guy could pick up one of those like you have listed that's missing a PTO shaft or something and fill it with concrete for a ballast box!
