Forgive me if I didn't search in the correct spot but I couldn't find the answer to my question.

I have a 2005 L4400DT 800hrs that is suck in 4x4. The 4x4 shifter moves freely up and down (up 4x4, down 2x4) I followed linkage to side of transmission case and it all moves freely. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thank you

Can you verify that the shaft into the tractor is rotating with the handle? Or has the handle come loose and is not moving the shaft?

If it is moving the shaft you have an internal issue. Broken shift fork most likely.

I'm sure Wolfman will elaborate...

Thank you for the reply. Yes I can confirm the shaft stub sticking out of transmission is rotating. I was thinking it might be internal also, just hoping it’s not going to require splitting the tractors
