I am the proud owner of a B2400 and I want to purchase the correct size (collection) of plugs and caps to keep on hand in case I ever need to change out a hose. I am looking for your thoughts on what sizes I should have on hand in case I do break a hose and need to remove it. I understand using a plug/cap will keep your oil from running out all over the ground while you run purchase a new hose.

Not worth the time and trouble to try and figure out, what if scenarios.

If it's got worn lines replace them.

Lines only flow fluid while it's running and or a valve is engaged, if you blow a line shut it off!

As NIW said shut it off. If you are the type of person that worries then:
1 clean around the area where the hose goes
2 remove the hose
3 cover the opening with a clean rag
4 tape or saran wrap the rag in place
5 take the entire hose to whomever you use to make a new one

I will also note:
That any hydraulic line (hard or soft) that could or would flow fluid in the event of a failure, you can not cap and run, it's an open hydraulic system and doing so will damage the system!

As said, don't use the damaged hose's circuit.

That being said.. I have a B2400 as well and have added a 2 spool valve as my B2400 had no capability to add a hydraulic attachment.

In adding that valve the hose size and fitting was 3/8" JIC.

On a front end loader, actually any attachment, I can't see the hose size's being over 3/8". Most attachments will prob. have 1/4" hoses.

My aftermarket 5ft blade uses 1/4" hoses.

I also have a Kubota quick attachment frame that only uses 1/4" hose's.

This is the cap I used when capping off a circuit I hadn't completed yet.
this one was a 3/8" JIC cap but the 1/4" one is the same, just smaller.

Hope that helps.
