It takes some practice... just ease that joystick forward real gently, slow and steady.

I can set mine with pallet forks on just above my truck's bed, and very slowly lower it to load with materials. Travel is less than an inch.

Just be easy with the control and practice.

RCW already answered with best solution. If you want additional help while learning, lower the engine rpm to the low-end of the scale designated for the loader, i.e. 2100 rpm. The hydraulic pump develops nearly all of its power fairly quickly; the higher RPM just increases the flow rate (makes it move faster.)

You can install an adjustable flow controll valve in the hydraulic line that retracts the cylinders. You can fine tune the drop rate.

Agree on RPMS. When I was first using the loader, I was very jerky as I had never used one before. I solved it by lowering RPMS until I got more proficient in feathering things.
