I am a city boy just learning this stuff. I have about 2 of 5 acres that needs to be bush hogged. What do you o with the 3-4 feet tall grass it leaves behind. In the city we just rake or bag the cut grass, but 2 acres worth.

The first time i did it, it just sat there and looked crappy once it all dried up. is there a rake type attachment to pull behind the tractor? or do you just leave it?

I just leave it. Doesn't take long for the grass to shoot up through it and it's natural organic fertilizer.

I leave it. it will eventually mulch down and it gets better each time you cut it if you dont let it get so tall.

Yep and every time you mow it chops it up even more.
Unless that is you want the land to look like a golf course,,, then you might want to think about a bagger for your mower and the build your self a nice big compost pile and come spring add that to your garden

Yep, I just leave it. You can run over it again to chop it up a bit more if it bothers you, but I don't. If I am going to go over it twice, I will just mow more frequently.

Sweet, more time for dinner with my tractor. the first time i did it i left it as well, but the next two weeks it kind of bugged me as it was dead and brown, but there was still nice green grass under and around it. But i agree way to mug to bag.

If it bothers you that bad and you have deep pockets and dont mind spening money you can get an estate rake and windrow the clippings into a pile and remove them that way. They are many sizes aviable, you can pull one with a riding lawnmower up to big farm tractor mount that'll pull a 16 foot path.

After a week or so mow it again and you will chopp all of the dead grass up into smaller pieces. This helps it to disappear faster.
