    l225dt headlamp replacement

I own an L225DT as well. Fairly rare tractor these days. I inherited mine from my dad who bought it new in 77. How do you like yours? I"m trying to figure out how to drop the front axle so i can drill out a broken bolt on the pinion housing. Not sure how it comes out just yet.

    L225DT front axle removal

Thanks for the advise, Russel. So I'm looking at the illustrated parts diagram and i see the front axle and bushings that go in the pivot but i don't see the shaft itself and what's odd is the lock bolt that's on my L225DT is on the front side of the axle and on the diagram it looks like its...

    L225DT front axle removal

I am planning to use an easy out; the reason for removing the axle is access. I can't access the broken bolt with the axle installed. There's maybe an inch and half before the engine block.

    L225DT front axle removal

My fellow orange tractor owners, i am in need of some advise. i need to remove the front axle on my L225DT in order to gain access to one of the four bolts that hold the pinion housing to the front diff/axle housing. One of the four bolts broke the bolt head off. See pics. Anyhow, from what can...

Does it matter if it did anything meaningful? That's kind of a fun killer question there wolfman. Maybe he did it just because he could. Mad skills right there!

    Final backyard grading done

Bmblank you're correct. Its just a rack with 5 v-shaped "plows" that dig in and help break up rough soil. Once I get sprinklers in, I'll bring in about 2 inches of top soil. We bought the house new two years ago with an unfinished basement. My wife said she didn't want to live in a house with...

    Final backyard grading done

Used the ol' L225DT to grade my backyard. The digger with the rocks on top was made by my uncle for my dad years ago. After using it to break up the hard soli, I was able to attach the box scraper I rented for the day to finish smoothing and leveling the soil. Just about ready to dig sprinkler...

viable sub for a box scraper

Skeets, do you put any weight on the box spring or just drag it as is?

viable sub for a box scraper

I've graded and leveled, the best I can, my backyard using my 5 point digger and FEL and now I need a box scraper or similar to take all the highs off and smooth things out. The soil is really hard and compact when its dry. Does anyone have a good, inexpensive alternative to renting a box...

    1st 50hr service on a 40yr old tractor (L225DT)

yes that is definitely a gray market (Zennoh) tractor. Mine has a 2spd PTO. The gray market tractors had 3 and sometimes 4 speeds that weren't offered by the factory in the US. Still a great tractor and as long as it was cared for you'll love. Other than my dad exploding the front diff...

    1st 50hr service on a 40yr old tractor (L225DT)

i have an original L225DT my dad bought new in 1976. The little grill around the headlights is chrome on mine and the lower, main grill is Kubota orange. That bucket on yours is aftermarket and it looks like the kind you find on refurb'd Zennoh L2000's. I'd be willing to bet the clock as been...

    Zen Noh ZL2000FD for sale

This tractor is a refurbished 1977 model L225DT with a lot more than 350 hours. It might only have 350 hours since the person who did the refresh reset the clock. I know because i have an L225DT.

    L1500DT 4x4 System

I believe its .9 quarts in both final drives and 1.1 quarts in the front diff. On each final drive and at the differential , there is a fill port and drain port. JUst fill all three until you see oil at the fill port. Can't go wrong. Even if you are above or below the recommended amount, you'll...

    L1500DT 4x4 System

Sounds like your problem is similar to mine with my L225DT (L2000DT) which is the three cyllinder version of your tractor. My front diff was completely destroyed and that part is VERY hard to come by if at all. I do have a contact for a place that found mine. Last time i checked they had at...
