Converted 30# Cub weights to 50# Kubota weights

Got the weights for a steel but wanted a little more weight. JB weld and a threaded rod to bond the added weight, bedliner spray on the back and paint the front. Made SS heavy washers and used SS acorn nuts for added bling just because. Mounted on a BX 2680. Also have window antifreeze in all...

Good front blade idea even if it is green!

Was looking for a part number for the JD 425 blade I adapted to my BX and saw this on the JD web page. Kind of a adaption of the Johnny Bucket. I don’t need one but figured someone here may want to make one.

    Deck Dolly

Stole this idea. Should have made this a long time ago. No tools needed. Just use the pins from the deck wheels +2 additional pins. Only thing I may still do is tack the u bolts to the rod so they won’t rotate. You can only tighten them so tight and the casters plate wants to bend. One caster...

    BX receiver and weights

Built a receiver with all parts I had laying around except for the 2 shackles. Well then I had to make something to use it on. Built a small holder for the 80# weight I made for my O turn that I took off when I sold it. Weight is 2 -2x4x18” pieces of steel bolted together.

    BX FEL hydraulic circuits

Does anyone have a schematic or can tell me which color port raises the FEL, which color port lowers the FEL, which color port raises the bucket and which color port dumps the bucket? Thanks

Adapting JD 54” quick attach to BX2680

Finished the adapter plates. Half inch plates give 1/8” clearance for the quick hitch. Now to complete the hydraulic lines. Except for initially drilling the pilot holes in the wrong location (oh sh-t moment), fairly easy project. Will add other pictures when I get the blade attached. $17 for...

    Overfilling tranny

Did the 50 hour maintenance on my 2680. Hydraulic fluid is about 1/4” above the full mark. Should I drain some out or is this a nonissue? In the past, you would hear about blowing out seals by overfilling.

    Poor man mulch kit

Added a plate to the deck discharge more so to reduce the width by a foot than the mulching effect. Couldn’t believe how much debris was packed under the belt covers around the belts and gearbox as the mower only has 38 hours on it. Needless to say, the belt covers will not be going back on.

    Hydraulic (bucket) throttling

The bucket on my 2680 is extremely touchy. Seem like it is full go or stop. Other tractors I have had you could operate the bucket much more smoothly very easy. Is there anything you can do to the hydraulic valve to get a smoother operation?

BX2680 Engine Mowing RPM 54” deck

New tractor, read the manuals but did not see a recommended engine speed for mowing. Being new, don’t want to run the engine too hard for a while. Seems not to lift the grass and give a nice cut all the time, mainly on finer grass blades. I’ve been cutting between about 2200 and 2500 rpm’s...

    R14 vs Turf Tire ride

They delivered our 2680 today. The dealer informed us they did not have a set of turf tires like we ordered so they left the R14 tires on and will swap them when he gets them. I was satisfied on how the R14 did not tear up our sandy soil, but thought the ride was rough compared to other garden...

    Magnets

I’m a believer in magnets. First oil change I drill the drain plug and install a magnet in it on all my vehicles. Also put a few high strength nickel sized magnets on the filter housings. K&J magnets have some crazy strong magnets. My observation on the engine oil, after the second oil change...

    Lucky Timing or Dumb Luck

Decided our current Bad Boy Maverick is not a good choice for our property a few weeks ago and stared looking for a SCUT. It’s a beast but a bad match for our property. Sold the Simplicity in my profile to help fund it. Will sell the 2019 Maverick shortly. Only about 100 hours on it. Of course I...
