    Is this dry rot?

I noticed one front tire has chunks missing from the corners of nearly every lug. Outside storage, limited sun exposure, 4 maybe 5 years old. Tires not abused. Used for snow removal only. Any idea what's going on?

PTO engagement levers and large butts.

I really wish the PTO lever was not right against the seat, in some models. My large hips are constantly moving the lever toward engage!

Wheel Spacers, Mid Mount Mowers, and a B2601

Im looking at installing 2" wheel spacers on a B2601. I understand that wheel spacers wider than 1.5" may interfere with a mid mount mower. So here is my question. Is anybody running a B2601, R4s, 2" rear spacers and either spec'd deck? That would be either the RCK54-32 or the RCK60-32. I...

    Battery and freezing temps

Is there a temperature at which one should consider removing the battery to protect it? My tractor is stored outside and we're expecting about -20°F in a few days.

    Gaining traction

Well we finally got a plowable snow here in central Maine. My first foray with the B2601 and Bx5455hd snowblower combo struggled and slipped to get up some small inclines on the driveway. So between tire loading, a ballast box, or tire chains which would give me the best chance at gaining...

    Electric Chute Deflector

My blower is a BX5455HD. Whoever wired the electric chute deflector did a questionable job IMHO. I am looking to see if there is a better way of routing the harness. The electrical leads are encased in a lightweight plastic sleeve. The wire harness stretches from the deflector motor to the...

    SnowBlower Operation per Manual

So this note is found in the Operators and Parts Manual Male Quick Hitch and subframe BX2751. (Although my hitch is the B2714c). Does this note imply that I cannot (should not) lift the blower to lets say clear a curb as I'm blowing? . Or to take half a bite from a drift while moving...

    BX5455HD snowblower driveline protector.

I am having difficulty determining how the flared male end of the driveline protector attaches to the rear of the blower. Without a manual I'm struggling. What I did: When attempting to access the zerk fitting in the ujoint immediately after the rear gearbox, I needed to move the end of the...

Manual for BX5455HD Snow Blower not found

Hello I have read the sticky and tried the suggestions and wore out google. I seem to be unable to locate a manual for the BX5455HD Snowblower or the B2714c quick hitch. I found a manual for the BX5450 blower, but its not the same. (the 55" is gear driven, hyd. chute etc). Anyone with a...

    Drain Fuel?

Greetings. I have a 2018 b2601 that has sat for two years with a half-full fuel tank. Its at 58 hours with no 50 hour service done yet. I will be doing the service tomorrow, but was curious about the fuel. I have no idea if there was any stabilizer or biocide added at any point. It...

    Curtis Hard Cab in Summer

It was a few degrees below 0F this morning with more snow tonight. I am getting kind of done with winter so I called the pool company and scheduled the pool opening. Maybe that will help. I felt better anyway. While still dreaming of summer, I was wondering if there was anyone who removed more...

    B2601 and Uhaul Trailers

Can anyone confirm that a B2601 with snowblower attached 'm could fit in the biggest uhaul 6x12 open trailer. Double axle. I'm guessing +/- 8 ft for the tractor and another 3 for the blower. Still within trailer load limits as far as i can see.

    Newby Tows B2601 Down Highway

Catchy title huh? Was not sure where to post this, but if I screw this task up, I'll need repairs for sure. I need to haul a B2601 about three hours down the highway. Apart from the discussion about tow vehicles, trailers, loading, balance and insurance - an important discussion to be sure -...
