    Adding work lights... advice please.

From your description, your original work lights are probably not LED. I chucked all the incandescent lamps on my old tractor and switched to LED. So much more light and so little current draw. Not terribly expensive any more, either.

    Adding work lights... advice please.

If you are lucky, the lamps may list current draw (amps), but my experience with multiple LED lamps is that their current draw is so low you'd have to have many to reach the 15 amp limit. Maybe some day tractor will have a covered, waterproof terminal box mounted on the inside of a fender with...

Good news! Crankcase on my B2401 is not overfull. Rubber seal on dipstick was slipping as I pressed it into place! Hydraulic system a bit low, probably due to some air in system at assembly time. Have put another 10 hours on it with no change in either level.

    Another B2401

I got a “Pat’s Quick Hitch and love it. Sure I have to get off to hook up the top link, but it will adjust for width so I don’t have to modify any of my old attachments.

I am here now, got mine 8-30-21. Love it for all the reasons mentioned.

Lots of Bennet lumber in the house we built in the 1970s. Could buy directly from the mill in those days.

Know it well, I taught at Deary for 25 years, 1973-'98. Queener homestead was west of hiway 9, now called "Queener Lane," and Queener Creek on the east side of 9, was my Grandfather's logging camp in the 1920s and 1930s.

    Wood stoves/furnace

I have had a TurboBurn outdoor wood fired boiler since 1985. It is in one end of my 28 x 16 greenhouse, separated by a concrete block wall and is surrounded by 2-3' of batt fiberglass. Hot water for heat (at zero pressure) and copper coil for domestic (separate lines, insulated from one...

Thanks for your insight. Yes, all of those things can happen, but I've been wiping my stick for over 65 years. I checked the oil at delivery and it was where is should be. Each time I've checked it since (about every 5 hours of use), it has been where it should be until this last time. I'd say...

Have checked the oil after about every 5 hours of use. No diesel smell in the oil, but because the transmission dipstick shows no fluid (I've checked that about every 10 hours of use) I suspect it is a hydraulic pump or seal issue. Dealer agrees with me, but says "driver in on vacation, if you...

I owned a B6000 with loader, hoe and rototiller for over 45 years. Absolutely no issues (it you don't count the reverse rotation PTO!) I sold it this summer and bought a new B2401 which I love. BUT... Checked the oil this morning (been moving the 18" of snow we have at near zero F temps) and...

    Kubota B6000 Restoration

Making gaskets with ball-p hammer (autocorrect wants 'pine'!) I only used the hole punches on very small bolts, less than 10mm. Takes a bit of practice, but I could get some very clean gaskets for non-pressurized applications. (Been doing it for over 60 years, maybe that helps!) I always used...

Newly purchased 74 B6000, no trans oil cap

The original had a rib neat the bottom that helped keep it in place. This probably does not, just get in the habit of looking at it when you leave the tractor. Easy to knock out with your feet.

Newly purchased 74 B6000, no trans oil cap

Mine had a neoprene friction fit plug. After a few years of ownership, my then 4 year old son accidentally kicked it out and it was lost. I was able to order a new one (1985), but this last summer the replacement cracked and I could not find a replacement. Being a retired chemistry teacher, I...

    B6000 4wd and...

You've probably figured out that the lever on the left is for the PTO which has 3 speeds. When you don't want it to turn, leave in 'N'. Easy to bump it when mounting the tractor, so I always got in the habit of making sure it was where I wanted. FEL and hoes for these were all made in U.S...
