    BF400 loader broken part

Drill was offset enough at depth that there was too much wall thickness, to shear easily. Bigger hammer, banging from both ends was enough to break them free eventually. Problem finally solved. Curious how much loader abuse was needed to shear the bolt heads off in the first place.

    BF400 loader broken part

Pipe wrench/vice grips on the remnant was a big fail. The bolts are VERY stuck. Drilling them out, from the bottom is the only option left. I just do not know how deep the threads are engaged

    setting grades on gravel driveway

I am adding a P-shaped turnaround at the end of our driveway. The turnaround is at the low point on our property, but re-connects at NOT the lowest point of the existing gravel driveway. I added a culvert across the turnaround at the low point. The neighbors property is 3' higher at our...

    BF400 loader broken part

So, the 14mm bolts are secured to the large front rod with a 14mm nut welded to a flat bar then welded to the rod. I have drilled through the bolt past the nut threads. The bolt still will not shear off. Is the flat bar also threaded? I also drilled down the top of the broken bolt shank, and...

tooth grind angle on post hole auger

Was able to grind & relief cut the tip enough to loosen it, and unscrew. Fortunately the TSC Countrywide tip threads matched the old tip.

tooth grind angle on post hole auger

Built the auger teeth back up with welds. (Picture is pre-repair). But the tip is so severly worn, it will not bite into the dirt. Screw-on tip will not unscrew. Suggestions on how to remove the tip? I have a gas torch & an induction welder. Gas torch will just transfer heat to the tip...

tooth grind angle on post hole auger

What is a typical OEM angle, 45°? I think it is the back rake angle that really matters. Because the teeth are so worn down on this one, the bottom of the teeth just surf on the dirt.

tooth grind angle on post hole auger

I am re-grinding the welded-on teeth on a post-hole auger. Should the teeth have a high positive rake (very sharp like 45°), or very low (more blunt like 10°).

    L235 Transmission fluid sight window

I know WHAT the Oil auge is, and where it is located. I just cannot find it in my parts list. I trust the Messicks part is the correct one. I just do not know where to find the correct parts list for my model L235. I know that many of the L185 and L245 parts cross to the L235. But I also know...

    L235 no fwd

What part number is listed for #5 coupling? This is the only correct diagram I have seen for the L235. All the others do not show/have the roll pin.

    L235 Transmission fluid sight window

How do I search the parts list? I cannot get it to show anything for the L235 model.

    L235 Transmission fluid sight window

Can you please send a photo of the parts page for mid case? In my parts book there is no mid-case. Only a clutch housing page, that has a completely different part #, and the description is "Plug". I do not trust my parts book. Some stuff looks right, other pages do not appear correct. It only...

    L235 Transmission fluid sight window

Are Sight Windows available for the L235/L275 hydraulic fluid transmission? It does not appear to be labeled in my parts diagrams, that I can find. Are there other press-in sight windows that might be compatible? I can buy generic sight windows, but they are threaded.

    L235 no fwd

The front coupling roll pin was MISSING. Question is: Where did it go? Previous owner rebuilt the transmission, and replaced the clutch. Is it possible he did not put the roll pin back, and the coupling has just been free sliding? The 4wd was definitely working for a few months after I got it...

    L235 no fwd

Fwd failed today. It shifts in/out of 4wd no issue. What specifics do I look at first? 4wd drive shaft, rear transfer case, etc... How do I determine if the 4wd drive shaft is spinning? If I raise the front wheels with the loader they spin freely in both 2wd & 4wd.

    PCV missing

How do I determine if it is exhaust valve blow-by or ring/oil blow-by?

    PCV missing

Only 455 hours, so am surprised it smokes so much. I does take a large number of revs to start, so I suspect there is some blowby from rings or valves until the compression gets high enough to start? Measured Compression was fairly high (>350psi) on on of the cylinders, so suspect it similar on...

    Hard to start

Follow, followup. A bypass piston in the loader shuttle valve was stuck, causing a hydraulic block in the neutral joystick position. This was putting an excessive load on the engine when starting.

    PCV missing

I have a L235 tractor (D1105 engine) that blows smoke out of a u-shaped pipe on the valve cover. It looks like there is a missing PCV filter/canister, and a down pipe. I cannot seem to find this missing part in the service manual, or engine parts list. The smoke is pretty noticeable. I...
