Hi guys:
Speeco Quick Hitch
L2501
FDR1660
The lower link hooks on the Speeco are 28-1/4" apart (same as on the Kubota Quick Hitch). The mower was a lot narrower than that. First pic shows the pin brackets flipped over and installed on the other side of the support frame so I could get maximum...
Some places on your tractor don't have grease nipples but they still need grease.
I have an L2501 but every other machine I have checked has no nipples on these points either.
I just found 6 more places:
Ends of upper lift arms, or top of lift rods = 2
Bottom of lift rods in lower lift arms = 2...
Just in case anyone else has not greased these, they need it. Fortunately they can be replaced easily but ...
The other side was worse but I had already greased it and didn't want to clean it off for a pic.
I'll be taking the lower pins apart as well.
No zerks to be found.
Anybody want some carving wood before I finish this?
Long enough to make a totem pole.
Nobody I know wants any more - I gave one guy a small piece to cut into RC airplane spars.
Free, and I will put it right on your truck if the tractor can pick it up.
1/ Found this odd valve thingy while greasing underneath. Can't see anything about it in the WSM. The pin is loose and not oily. It's the only thing not painted.
What is it?
2/ The new hydraulic filter is bigger than the original and gets in the way of the hose even more. i'm thinking I...
Obviously it's worth thousands, I just need you guys to tell me how many thousands.
All the parts are there and fit together remarkably well.
I can not find any numbers, letters, or a name anywhere.
Hi guys:
I'm having an awful time trying to get the wheels balanced on my L2501.
I've been to truck places as well as my dealer and just get the runaround.
One place had me talk to 4 different people, including the owner.
What do you guys do about this?
Thanks,
Mike
Hi guys:
I have an L2501HST with PTO HP = 19.
The RTR1258 requires 20 HP
The RTR1250 requires 15 HP
I'm sure that the 1HP I'm missing for the 1258 is fairly meaningless as it depends on soil type/condition/speed etc.
So I'm asking you guys if these are generally well suited to the L2501 and...
I thought I would be getting spacers with 12 holes on the bolt circle.
6 to bolt the spacer to the hub, and 6 more to bolt the wheel to the spacer.
Also, no extra length bolts were included but that's fixable.
The original bolts are marked '7' Does anyone know if that's a bolt grade mark...
Hi guys:
The stabilizers rub against the tires.
Dealer says that's never a problem, something is wrong. But hasn't offered a solution except to say I don't need wheel spacers.
I'm starting to think I need to mount the outer end of the stabilizers inside and under the lift arms which will...
I'm not sure what they weigh but they are too heavy for me to wrestle.
I put 1/2" lag bolts either side and lift them with the pallet forks on to the splitter.
Slow going but I don't have a faster way.
Pick the cleavage line
Bam!
I drive it over to the splitter flat on the forks, then get...
My dad built this shed 45 years ago and had framed in a man door just in case.
I don't know if I've invented a new way of adding a door but it worked so well I'm posting it.
Here is the rough opening after I removed the 2x3s to which the steel was fastened.
Next I attached the door frame to...
Hi guys:
I'm used to dropping the 3 point arms(Ford 3000) outside the implement with lots of room to push them on to the pins. All implements were easy that way.
The RCR1260 is 32" pin end to pin end and the L2501 with R4 tires only allows the arms to go to 30.5". So I have to get one side on...
Sometimes there isn't enough room for a decent size lynchpin so they use 'R' clips. The bigger ones that your finger fits in are Ok but the tiny ones are a bear to get in and out sometimes.
I modified an old pair of pliers by drilling a hole near the end and they work so well I'm posting it...
My Dad would have bought this used in the early 1970s so it could be more than 60 years old.
I've freed it up and am using it anyway.
I thought 'Made in England' was odd so googled a bit.
A lot of you guys probably know this stuff but for anyone who would like to find out about how the 3...
I like making useful things out of junk so never throw anything out which might be useful someday.
I was looking around for some suitable pipe and spied this single malt Scotch container which came in a 3 pack.
I don't know where the Scotch went.
I just cut it shorter, put a magnet on the end...
Does anyone in Ontario have 'Fire & Theft' on their tractor?
This machine is worth about 5 times what my car is and I'm thinking I should get some insurance.
edit: I found some videos here, should have looked first.
Thanks,
Mike
I've run this mower for almost an hour and probably shouldn't have. The spindles got pretty warm from the stinkin' hot belt.
I don't know if the tension spring with the chain is the way the factory set it up but this is how I got it.
The spring extends about an inch with 170Lbs hanging on it...
Hi guys:
I'm new here so go easy on me. :)
I just got an L2501 yesterday and it came with 2 of the 4 implements, rest are not in yet.
I ordered pallet forks to pick up logs but only have the bucket at the moment.
I'm thinking of making a couple of steel plates to bolt to the alignment holes in...
