A green tractor question...well, sort of.

I have an old John Deere 2030 that I only use to pull a rotary cutter to cut my place a few times a year. The tank started leaking last year and it is rusted out pretty bad. I finally found a metal aftermarket. They have been unavailable a while. $566 after tax and shipping, but I sucked it up...

Hydraulic fittings leaking, what am I doing wrong?

OK, I have two hydraulic elbow fittings that leak. They are 3/8 NPSM female with the o-ring inside going to a 3/8 NPT male. I have the same configuration on another line with no leaks. I tightened them twice, but still leaking. I understand/read that sealant is not needed on the NPSM due to the...

    Bent hydraulic top link.

I thought I would try a hydraulic top link on my L2501. I bought one listed as a Category 1 top link. I hooked it up to my box blade and cycled the cylinder and it immediately bent as I extended it. Are these things that weak or is there something I should not have done?

Hydraulic hose fitting type question. NPT and NPTF

I need to fabricate two 5' hydraulic hoses. I will have 1/2" Pioneer quick couplers on each end of the hoses, so I am ordering the hoses with male fittings. I can only find 1/2 NPTF male ends for the selection. I am pretty sure this will work, but for those than know this stuff, I was hoping you...

Summit electric rear remote kits, anyone used them?

I was interested in adding rear remotes at some point to my machine, as I have none at all. I explored simply running a line from my 3rd function and swapping lines when needed, a factory remote kit, diverters....and then on YouTube, I see a video about an electric rear remote kit from Summit...

Question for those with zero turn mowers, and maybe BX tractors. Melted dust ejector.

I am not sure how many have experienced this, but I bought a Kubota ZD1011 zero turn diesel mower late last year. I think I have about 25 hours on it, maybe a touch more. I noticed the time before last of using it, the Dust Ejector on the air filter housing was deformed. It was looking like it...

When oil prices go up more what are you....

going to do? I think we are all pretty much expecting oil prices to continue to rise. Some of us are obviously affected by it more than others...commuting, type work, etc. But, all of us will be affected by it one way or the other. So, I am just curious if any of you have any plans in place now...

    SSQA tow mount plates.

I know these are typically sold as an attachment for moving trailers. Anyone use these as a lifting tool? I could see it having an advantage due to less bulk and weight.

Anyone own both a single and dual lid grapple?

I have the EA 55" Wicked Root Grapple. Out of curiosity, I was looking at their dual lid models and was curious if anyone has both styles, and if so, how they might compare. I am aware most of us probably have one style, but feel free to comment regardless.

    Crazy times. Ammunition thread.

I am sure many of you know of the great ammunition shortage, including components for those that reload. I just find it fascinating, for the lack of a better word, at what some of the prices are for these components. I am mainly looking at primers. I was curious and glanced at some prices on...

Question on clevis pin alternatives when attaching and removing the 3 point hitch.

As I have a backhoe, it stays on the tractor mostly, but I have to peridocially install the 3-point arms when I use another implement. It is straightforward, but the most aggravating thing are the cotter pins through the clevis pin....the part on the end of the sway bare link that attaches to...

    Land Planer/Leveler size for L2501

I'm thinking about purchasing a land leveler/planer. I was wondering what size would be best for the L2501. Is a 6' model too much? I have no experience using one and was hoping some of you can give me some advice.

Anyone running Kubota zero turn diesels?

I decided to buy a zero turn mower and purchased a Kubota ZD1011. 54" cut with 3 cylinder diesel. I haven't seen much about mowers here. I was wondering if anyone was running the zero turn diesels. I have not received the mower yet. I read a bit online and found some negative comments on the...

    Price matching

It may be a no-brainer for many of you, but I thought I would bring it up anyway. Many stores now have a price match policy to remain competitive. That used to not be the case. We just had a Tractor Supply open here about two weeks ago. Yay! The problem is, their prices are not anywhere as...

    Adding expanded metal to grapple.

I did a bunch of grapple work the other day, the most I have done so far. I was mostly removing cedar trees that the wind blew down from storms a while back. I was aware of the hazards of poking a stick through the grill and radiator. I was being extra careful. Even then, I had nervous...

BXpanded quick attach on BH77 backhoe. Who is using it?

I would like to eventually put the BXpanded quick attach kit on my backhoe. One member said there were some technical problems with his. I have held off, in part, because of that. For the few that do have it on a BH77, what do you think? Any problems? Regrets purchasing? Also, I have the...

Being new doesn't make it perfect.

I was happy to purchase my new L2501, but two days in a row, I have had issues that have hindered completion of projects and has/will waste time. Yesterday, I finally attached my Everything Attachments grapple to the loader for the first time, plugged it in, cranked the tractor, hit the 3rd...

Advice needed for hydraulic line interferring with 3 point lift arm.

I removed my backhoe on the L2501 for the first time today. Simple enough. However, I was disappointed to see that when I plugged in the return line back into the tractor and started to install the 3 point arms, it is very much going to be in contact with the 3 Point parts. Has anyone had that...

Question on removing/installing Backhoe and Loader.

I will need to remove my backhoe and loader in the near future. It is my understanding the more level the ground, the better, and a nice and level concrete pad would be ideal. Unfortunately, I do not have that right now. A portion of my barn has concrete, but it is not accessible with my...

Question for those with a Piranha tooth bar.

I'm thinking about purchasing a Piranha tooth bar. The inside of the bucket measures 64 3/8". The toothbar selection is in 1/4" increments. Do I order the 64.25" or 64.5" bar. From what I have seen online, video reviews and such, it always seems like the tooth bar mounting tabs seems to measure...
