    M4D-071HDC12

I have a lot of rock, but haven't had it long enough to know how they will hold up. They were the only real option for me as far as I was concerned for what I do. I do have liquitube in them so any punctures up to 1/2" should be sealed. I also have Rimguard in the rears and didn't want it...

    M4D-071HDC12

The problem with R4's on the M7060 is the rim sizes. They are way smaller than the R1's. I don't do any real farming and do a lot of driving over my "lawn" so I opted for the R14's. On 34" rims in the rear and I think 24's on the front. Very happy with them for my needs so far. For me, they...

    M4D-071HDC12

I want to be able to run things like a hydraulic post hole digger on my loader. I use my grapple and a tree puller quite often as well, the extra flow speeds things up. I basically live by the mantra I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

    M4D-071HDC12

If it is available, I would buy it. I waited 5 months for mine to come in, but I also had a lot of options. Although those weren’t the reason for the delay. All accessories are put on by the dealer so that in and of itself isn’t the issue. My dealer did tell me though that the parts for my...

    M4D-071HDC12

I need the creep gear for things like tilling. I like to move just a bit slower than L1 at 540 pto RPMs. It probably works out for me at 5% Creep gear (but when you need it, you need it), 80% Low, and 15% High. I don't travel roads much, but do use high randomly. I could probably technically...

    M4D-071HDC12

I got the 12 speed and added the extra creeper gear so a total of 18 speeds. I knew the M4 would eventually replace the M7060, but have zero concerns about parts or service. It has been around so long and so many are out there that I find almost zero chance I will have support issues. I...

    M4D-071HDC12

I have seen this question a couple of times recently and have asked the following question. Is there a specific reason you want the M4D vs the M7060? They are for all practical purposes the same machine, but the M4D has a couple of "features" the M7060 doesn't. If you require a buddy seat the...

    Wake up call, today's reality?

I did the same for my Triumph, but didn't have to go as far. Decided what I wanted and talked to 5 closest dealers. Got lucky and the one 2nd closest to me gave me the best deal up front. Of course everyone else then wanted to match it. No bueno.

    Wake up call, today's reality?

Nope, you may get them to get you one if it is from the same ownership group, but dealers can't get enough cars as it is. They aren't trading them to other dealers for the most part for any reason.

    Wake up call, today's reality?

Find another dealer. I just bought a new Suburban and ran into some doing the same thing. Vehicles are harder to find, but if you know what you want, you can find them with some work. I had an additional problem (benefit for me) in that I had employee pricing. Some dealers wouldn't honor...

    Dealer negotiation / pricing

Find a better dealer if all they are offering is MSRP+. Last week I just ordered a new M7060 cab with a lot of addons at $5000 below MSRP. There are dealers out there who are still working with people. I am lucky to have 5 dealers within an hour, but it was my closest dealer who gave me the...

Forks to “Work” Earth for Rocks & Stumps?

If we are really talking boulders and large rocks, then no, you won't have any luck with forks and it will break something on your loader or tractor. Boulders is subjective so I would classify a boulder as something larger than 18-24" in diameter. I did however just recently rent a mini ex...

    Which tips for 3rd function?

I would change the third function to 1/2 flat flace in front. Much better connection and easier to use in my view. I have them on my MX5800 as well, but was able to tell the dealer to use flat face when installing third function.

    Advice on grapple

For that amount of land and cost, I would probably just use forks.
