I had a tree limb push and break off a small piece of the lower radiator housing. Anybody here successfully JB weld, or find another solution to weld the plastic back together? Tractor is a L 4400. Thanks, Craig

This is the area that holds the valve. It was epoxied, and painted over when I got the tractor. The epoxy eventually failed.

Ok, I was wrong on what piece you were referring too. I’ll look at the tractor tomorrow and see what kind of adjustment there is. What is the WSM that Wolfman is referring to?

That’s another matter in itself. That valve that you are referring to was missing when I bought the tractor. Part of the housing that it’s encased in, was broken off, and epoxied over and painted. After using the tractor for a few hours, it started leaking, worse, and worse. It’s been welded...

I haven’t really checked it like that, but I can. It kinda seems like some kind of Valve is sticking. It won’t even lower correctly if the box blade is all the way up.

Last few times I’ve been on my L4400, I’ve noticed that the loader function is decreased when I have the box blade in the highest position. The up and down controls are almost non existant in this condition. The bucket dump control is still normal though. If I lower the box blade to half way...

Ok, I figured it out. When I raise box blade to the highest point, it severely limits power to raise the boom. When I lowered it by 1/3, i regained full power to raise the boom. I guess the pump can only do so much.

I was using my L4400 today to move some dirt to enlarge a small pond. I also had a box blade on the 3 point hitch. After an hour or so, the front end started not responding correctly to the valve. The curl and dump directions were working correctly , but the boom up and down was not working...

So, unless someone can tell me the direct replacement for the front tires(not wanting to change the back ones now), I should be able to go by the local tractor store and measure, and find the ones that are closest( hopefully exact height)to my existing tires. I think that would work, right?
