    Camp build

I am starting to build a camp on our property in S/W Mississippi and was wondering if anyone would be interested in following it. This will be a long term project taking about 2 years I am guessing. If there is enough interest I will start a new thread for the build. Sent from my iPhone using...

    Algae?

This morning I drained and cleaned the water seperator on my tractor. When I dumped the water and fuel into a container I noticed a clump of brown sudstance come out with it which I have not seen in the past. I live in the deep south where it is hot and humid a good portion of the year. I...

    Rear Tire Question

Bought my tractor (L4701) at the end of December 2016 and put 70 hrs on it between May and November of 2017. Since then it’s been on my trailer at home until it dries up enough at my property to do more work. Yesterday I decided to check the air pressure on the tires while doing a little post...

    Fall Foliage

Anyone here from the New England states can give me a report on the fall foliage? Leaving Sunday to head up that way for vacation but can’t seem to find any reports online this year for some reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Widening rear tires on L4701

About a month ago while moving some gravel with my loader my tractor was very tippy which I didn't like at all. Rears are not loaded as of now but plan to get them done before long. Looking at my tire/rim configuration I think I can widen them about 4" by unbolting the outer rim from inner disc...

    50 Hr service complete

Completed my 50 Hr service this morning at 45.1 Hrs and all went well. It took about 3 hours taking my time and checking everything front to back. The engine oil looked almost new and had very few very fine metal shavings on the hydraulic fluid filter magnet. My front diff level was about 1/4"...

    Another 50 Hr service question

Every 50 hrs my manual states to torque the wheel lugs (Front 108 lbs-ft Rear 166 lbs-ft) and the loader to frame bolts (166 lbs-ft). My torque wrench only goes to 75 lbs-ft so what are you guys doing to check them without buying a really expensive torque wrench that goes that high? Just use a...

    Top link question

I put 1 pump of grease too many in my top link and blew out the little plug opposite of the grease zerk and lost it. Now every time I adjust the top link grease squirts out of the hole. Anyone know where these can be purchased other than the dealer which is 45 minutes away? What is this plug...

    L4701 50 hr Service

I will be coming up on my 50 hr service here shortly. Since I used the 2 gallons of hydraulic fluid I recently bought can anyone tell me about how much hydraulic fluid I will lose when I replace the hydraulic filter so I can have it on hand. This is a gear drive not a HST.

    L4701 Hydraulic Fluid Level

A while back I had a hyd leak and took it to the dealer to have it repaired under warranty. While there I bought everything for my 50 hr service along with 2 gallons of hyd fluid. When I got home I noticed they had not topped off the hyd fluid after the repair so there went 1 gallon of hyd...

How many hours between regens on your L4701

I will be contacting my dealer today concerning the frequent regens on my L4701 (average 5-6 hrs between them). I am starting this thread to see how long other L4701 owners are going between regens on their tractors. On the last cycle I kept the rpm's above 2200 and ran it at wot for a good part...

    L4701 hydraulic leak

While cutting grass I lowered the FEL a tad to get a better view of what was ahead and hydraulic fluid started spraying out the right side just in front of the brake pedals. Shut down the machine to see what was leaking. It is spraying from a flange on a hard pipe at what I will assume at this...

    L4701 1st regen

Finally got to take my tractor off of the trailer and do some work. Bush hogged the powerline on my property in Mississippi then started playing with my discs. Tractor went into regen mode at 4.5 hrs and lasted about 15 minutes. Seems kind of quick for a regen to me. It had 1 hr on it when I got...

    Kubota Insurance

I recently bought my tractor (will take delivery tomorrow) and since they offered 0% interest for 60 months I went that route instead of paying it outright but had to buy the insurance to get 0%. Anyone have any experience with their insurance? Is it worth the cost, any issues getting claims...

    Which brand engine oil

I will take delivery of a new L4701 next week. While I was reading the manual this evening I started wondering which brand of engine oil everyone is using in their tractors. I am a DIY'er and will service what I can within reason and oil changes makes that list. I see the first oil change is due...

    New to forum and tractors

Hi everyone, I am new here so this is my first post. During my research for my first tractor purchase I looked at just about every color tractor made and in the end I decided I liked the orange ones best. With that said I will take delivery of my package next week. I bought a L4701 4x4 with...
