    Milwaukee M18 circular saw gutless?

The battery size makes a huge difference. I can tell the difference between my 8Ah and 6Ah. With the 8Ah it has more torque than my corded Makita hypoid saw.

    Kubota RTV XG850 Sidekick Experience?

I've got 510 miles on mine and my brother bought one at the same with about 700mi on his. Both of us have problems with it stumbling/bogging some times. It's like it's a fuel map issue because it seems worst in high-humidity. Anybody else have this problem? It's got loads of power (and...

    case drain remote

Also check your motor specs, many of them allow you to plug the case drain if there's no back pressure on the return line. If you have it hooked up to the rear remotes AND don't use another function at the same time (such as raising the loader while the winch is turning) then you may be ok...

County Line 60G sprayer for 3PH

I have (had) two now. Not recommended. First one died after about 2 hours of use because the tank cracked where a molded screw mounts it to the frame. The screw was not overtightened. I spoke to mfg and they replaced the tank for free (good) but the new tank didn't come drilled for the pump...

    Backup alarm on M59

I have an L47 (baby brother to yours) and both behaviors are tied to the swivel seat switch not in "forward" position. I think you just have 1 switch to check for.

    Anyone have a L47?

I have one with about 400 hours of experience on it. The separate pump runs the swing so that you can swing and boom at the same time. However, the main pump runs all of the boom functions and there is a clear priority in the connections so if you fully open all of the valves you only get one...

Is there any way to add cruise control on L47?

Except that I have an L47, which is a speciality TLB machine. It's very similar to L47xx series but not close enough that I can just order L4701 parts.

Is there any way to add cruise control on L47?

I have an L47, it's a good bit different from the other Grand-L models but it's also obvious that there's a lot of shared parts too. Does anybody know if there's any way to add cruise control (even ex-warranty) to my L47? 99% of the time I *really* enjoy having HST and even when using...

My next project probably is a Log Arch

Ironically, last week was my kids’ “Spring Break” we stayed home, of course, and split up our time doing fun stuff and farm chores. We dropped that big 25” DBH x 70’ standing dead white oak. I got three solid straight 12’ sections out of it, another 12’ knotty that should be interesting and then...

My next project probably is a Log Arch

I got to try out my arch yesterday. Worked great! Started with a 12”x14’ white oak. Less than 50lbs negative tongue weight and that was counteracted by tail dragging a little bit. Then I decided it was best to do a stress test. I have a 24” poplar log but it was way too long and I didn’t bring...

My next project probably is a Log Arch

Finished initial build today! Still need to test it but I played with a log in the backyard and it seems to work well. For the removable tow tongue I took a standard 2” drop hitch and cut off the flat part and then flipped it over and welded it back on at the same angle as the drop (plus a...

My next project probably is a Log Arch

Aye, roger that. I've got a 25" DBH x 50'+ white oak that is dead, bark falling off up on the knee of a slope that I've got to try and get down. Not many other big trees near it which means a) full overlapping crowns and b) since they're the only big ones left I want to try and preserve them...

My next project probably is a Log Arch

Thanks for the welding tips guys. That helped a lot. I was using the welding table as ground. Moving the clamp to the piece solved the sticking problem. 130 turned out to be the magic number. Took me a couple of beads to get used to the slower deposition rate but once I did, I managed to even...

My next project probably is a Log Arch

Check out the video on LogRite's page. They just have a pull ring mounted on the end of the tongue and set the tongs location on the log so that when the rope is taut it lifts the log and when it goes slack the log sets back down making an automatic brake, of sorts.

My next project probably is a Log Arch

None taken! That's why I love it here, so much good advice offered for free. Stick welding, 1/8" 7018 rods at 165 amps. I initially tried around 150-155 but I kept getting the stick stuck. I also feel like I'm keeping the arc too short, I'm almost touching the work. But when I open it up I...

My next project probably is a Log Arch

Here’s where I cut iff the original axle spindles and welded them onto the legs. Originally, I planned to weld it centered into the tube but It didn’t quite fit and I saw I had a lot more weld surface if I put it aside. I wasn’t sure how that would work out but while repositioning it for welding...

My next project probably is a Log Arch

Thanks for that feedback, I ended up shortening the bottom piece from 2'2" to 18". The tires are 25" overall so that gives me about 36" of height which matches the 32" width well, I feel. I want the struts longer/lower too but that's as far as the available material goes. I haven't welded...

My next project probably is a Log Arch

I forgot to post my design. Here's roughly what I plan to build. I dimensioned everything in this plan based on what material is actually available in the donor trailer. Because of that, some of the proportions seem off. For example, the spine is 3x3" square tube and then the tension brace...

My next project probably is a Log Arch

I missed that trailer but got a better one instead. It’s a Four Winns with 3/16” wall tubing and a 3500# axle. Last night, I got it chopped up into stock and axles. Now I’m beginning the main arch. At first, I thought I could use the already formed bends in the ribs for the arch but they...

My next project probably is a Log Arch

Good point, Mike. I hadn’t thought of that. I missed out on that first trailer but I’m looking at another one tomorrow. I’ll check for that. Worst case, I’ll double up the arch steel or add more bracing.
