I just picked up a B26 thumb kit. The instructions that came with the kit aren't the best. Should I put the bucket on the ground and disconnect the Hydralic lines of the backhoe from the machine before attaching the thumb lines? Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

If the machine is already plumbed and has foot controller for thumb can someone give me an idea how much more to put an actual thumb on it? Also is this difficult to do or do I need a professional install?
