Wix 51307 (for L2501) cut open

I know. I wish I had one to compare side by side.

Wix 51307 (for L2501) cut open

I know. The dreaded oil filter thread. This post is for scientific/ informational purposes only! Brand new Wix that crosses (per Wix) to the Kubota OEM engine oil filter for a L2501. 55 pleats in all. If you wondered what the inside construction is like in these, wonder no more. Again, this is...

    Rear 12v outlet for L2501

I actually haven't bought the light yet. Honestly, with 10 amps to work with I might find a nice led light bar just the same. There are a ton of options on Amazon. What I like about this set up is if the prospective light turns out to be a POS it won't involve rewiring anything to replace it.

    Rear 12v outlet for L2501

The work light circuit is 10 amps. Finding an led work light should be no issue but the sprayer pump might be a different story. I know most 2.2 gpm pumps are around 8 amps. I've never had a problem running them on an ATV. I guess I'll find out.

    Rear 12v outlet for L2501

First month with the new L and made my first mod, so to speak. I added a rear 12v marine-rated power outlet for a work light and/or sprayer. The best spot for me was under the reflective device mount. I went online and got the connecter to match the factory work light plug under the fender. The...

    New L2501! Well kinda...

I never considered the tractor being shipped that way, but I guess it makes sense if they're trying to maximize shipping space. Thanks for the replies. I'll keep an eye on yhe axle this week and see if any new oil appears.

    New L2501! Well kinda...

Took possession of a new L2501 today. Overall, I like what I'm seeing except...I noticed the right axle appears to be weeping oil. The bolts have clearly been off. Unfortunately this was noticed after I signed and the delivery guy left. I considered that maybe the set up guy spilled UDT while...

BX23S Temperature Gauge reads kinda Cool

Seems normal for our type of engine. My B2601, when worked hard in the summer, only creeps up to slightly above 1/4 on the gauge. It seems Kubota has a very efficient cooling system.

Woods SB54 Chute Handle Length Problem

After fiddling with it for a bit, I found that the support bracket for the chute handle can be mounted in a number of ways on either side of the frame. I actually found mounting the bracket opposite of the installation instructions gives just enough clearance to get by the fender cross member...

Woods SB54 Chute Handle Length Problem

Recently bought a Woods SB54 for my B2601 and am finding that the handle for the chute rotation is too long--even when adjusted in as far as it will go. The handle strikes the cross member on the fenders when the SB is lowered and then hits the seat when raised. I see some fabricating in my...

B2650 Low Oil Press @ Startup

I see this is an older thread. Sorry no one responded. All I can tell you is I have a B2601 and I'm experiencing the same thing. I thought the 50 hr service and oil change would solve it, but it still does it. Oil pump losing prime?

    first impression: my new 2601

Congrats on the new machine. I also have a 2601 and have found it perfect for my 9--mostly wooded--acres and 150 foot driveway. As other others have mentioned, you will usually run out of traction long before you run out of HP. Hogging in February! Must be nice. Although the winter here in SE...

    B2601 Upgrades

I got the toolbox from a store called Family Farm and Home, which is like TSC. You could use any box of similar dimensions. This box was slightly larger so I had to mount it back on the rail a bit so it wouldn't block the top link from going in its hook when not in use. When I got the box...

    B2601 Upgrades

Thought I'd share some of changes I've made to my 2601 since I got it a few months back. First, I intalled the Kubota block heater. As others have stated, this is not a difficult job but you WILL need a 35mm socket to fully tighten the heating element. A crescent is not going to cut it in the...

Any ideas what these are? They look like knock-outs for optional switches.

    Installing a block heater on a B2620

I know this is an old post but I found it quite helpful when I did my block heater install this past weekend. I thought I'd share a few notes from my experience. I was able to get the plug out with a 5/8 hex bit. I was able to get away with the sloppy fit due the shiny newness of my engine...

    New B2601!

After much research (much of it here) I decided to buy a B2601. Not much work for it yet other than moving some rocks but so far I love it.
