    Advantage of being suddenly single.

I lost my first wife to cancer. I no longer had someone that said I shouldn't buy.... So I went out and bought a back hoe attachment for my BX.

Awesome dogs / Crazy pets Thread

Bob, he's been gone for 12 years, but a great dog. He was a home body - absolutely no reason to leave home, no rides - nothing. We had a fenced in back yard, he would dig under the fence and run around to the front of the house and bark to get let in. We still miss him.

Awesome dogs / Crazy pets Thread

We moved into a new house and during the move, the doors were all open. Finished moving stuff in and the Jason ( a Shepard mix ) was no where to be found. We called for him and searched the neighborhood - no Jason. We finally closed the doors and checked out the house. There was Jason curled...

Electric Cars - 12 minutes worth watching

All of these comments about trenching machines are great, but what to do about the water table. My water table is at about 4', that means I'd have to work 6' under water.

Electric Cars - 12 minutes worth watching

If you are 1" below frost line, you are not deep enough. Geothermal relies on the ground being about 50 degrees.

Electric Cars - 12 minutes worth watching

At 6" wide, you still have to put sand down, the pipe, and more sand. You're working at the edge of a 10' trench that could give way. If it was digging through granite, do you really think it would be much cheaper than a well?

Electric Cars - 12 minutes worth watching

The issue with horizontal geothermal! I have 4 acres, so that's not an issue. They say the coils should be 10' down. When you dig that deep, you have to shore up the walls so they don't cave in on you while working. Ok, so I have to dig out a big hole 10' deep without hitting granite and it...

Has anyone tried this (Snow removal)

I have a 6' blade from a Jeep so it isn't light. I've had to cut a lot of metal off it to lighten it up. It is mounted on the loader arms. If I have of 6" of wet snow I have to push it off to the side as I go down my 500' driveway. 700# of lead on 3-point hitch, turf tires, no chains, relatively...

Mower blades, regular, mulching, or high lift?

I looked into G5 and G6 blades but couldn't find a cross reference from the Kubota numbers. There also doesn't seem to a guide to look it up by dimensions. SO I wound up doing nothing. I'm also not sure that it will do anything to reduce the blowby from the front right of the deck.

Bolts To Studs On A BX Front Axle

That's why I bought press in studs and cut the press in part off. Truck studs that should be more Than strong enough for my BX. I also used red locktite, I think it is more permanent

Mower blades, regular, mulching, or high lift?

I have a BX2200, RCK60, and a GCK bagger. My issues are when using the bagger (1)the leaves don't get cut up fine and(2) when I mow, leaves blow out the front right of the mower deck and not getting sucked up by the bagger. I am still using the original Kubota blades but thinking if new blades...

    Daily Chuckle

Go ahead and laugh, but this works! My father was a plumber and was taking the pipes out of a well. He and my brother using 4' pipe wrenches could not loosen the pipes. So out came the comalog.

    Front Wheel Bolts-->BX23s

I bought some longer press in studs with 9/16-18 thread. Cut the press in head off. Put red locktite on it and screwed it into the hub. I now have studs on the front wheels. I like them much better than bolts

Doctor should have been more specific

Not sure a hydro will do it. I have a hydrostatic and after I'm out plowing snow, my right knee hurts because I push on the pedal thinking that it will push the snow better lol

    Moving heavy trailer with BX

I did. I moved a 24' travel trailer around with the BX. I had a hitch adapter on my 3 point hitch, A ball on the loader may not be able to pick up the trailer tongue due to weight. Remember the bakes on the BX are not great so only do this on level ground

    Mulch?

I can fix things but don't understand dirt! I have piles of leaves that have been decomposing over the years, I occasionally turn them over. I have mixed in a little subsoil which I have piled up. I put some of this out, but it doesn't seem to grow grass very well. What should I do to the...
