    Mower/brush hog limiter chains

My nephew gave me this 5' Massey finish mower and controlling the front with the lift arms wasn't cutting it. I read about "limiter chains" which this has on the front. After trying one method I came up with this one. Square "U" bolts on the ROPS uprights - no drilling involved. There were...

Spruced up my York Rake with some wheels

Titan Attachments sent an email with discounted gauge wheel kits - $165 shipped. A quick calculation told me I can't fabricate them for that. The glitch was the 4" spacing for the mounting holes. No problemo - drill new holes! So far the test run was great, but they do interfere with turning...

Lost power to lights and fuel gage.

Hi all - the other day I was running my B6200 and one minute the fuel gage and lights were on and the next they weren't. I'm curious if there is an inline fuse for these? I've checked for grounds, but everything looks tight in that dept. Thanks for any help.

Are 6" wheel spacers too much?

I saw some 6" Bora spacers for sale for a "B" series Kubota - I have a B6200. I was wondering if that would be too much for it. My tire width is 4 foot now and these would make it 4' - 10" as I would move the hubs in closer to the frame.

"Plug, Blind" on B6200 rear axle case

It's: Kubota: PLUG, BLIND, Part # 67211-11140 it's on the rear axle case - what does it do? I see a drop of hydraulic oil starting to leak there and it spins. It's like a plastic slotted pan head.

Any slip clutch for a 15hp. tractor?

I went to my local dealer today and was told I probably wouldn't find a slip clutch for my 48" brush hog. My tractor is a B6200 @ 15HP/12.5 PTO HP. I bought a few grade 2 shear bolts and the PTO has an overrun clutch. If I can't find one would another overrun work on the 'hog end? I'm leery...

Rustoeum Implement Kubota Orange brush on enamel

Is it Kubota 1, or Kubota 2? The label looks darker than #1, but it's a mass print job so has anyone used it? I'm painting my brush hog and thought orange would look good and I'm brushing it on to fill in all those nooks and crannies and my grandson is helping. We did rusty primer today -...

    Bush Hog mod question

Is there any downside to drilling a couple of drain holes in the pan of my Bush Hog SQ48? When I took it apart because the blades were rusted to the pan the top of the pan was full of crud and of course rust. Anyone try this? I was also thinking of fab'ing a cover plate for the blade access...

True what they say - Rust Never Sleeps

For some reason I decided to open a can-o-worms and fetched the brush hog I got with my tractor last year down and started taking it apart. Whooo Booyy - wrenches, long pipes, a trusty impact driver and lots. and lots of rust buster. Hopefully tomorrow things will start moving. I did use my...

So I pick up my tires today from the local Kubota dealer and . . .

One of the rears are on backwards!!!! I took a picture of the stack, but didn't catch it as I was on a mission to tape off the tires and paint the rims. I'm looking at the last one and damn it's backwards. I called service and he was like "I told those guys they were directional and to please...

B6200 so how far out can I move my hubs?

Right now the rear hubs are two inches from the last hole and there is one in between at an inch on another facet. If I set them all the way out the axle will be inside the hub by an inch. Not sure I'm jiggy with that - who can tell me the truth? I couldn't find anything in the owners manual...

    There's just something about Orange . . .

My wife told me when she took two of the grands to the fairgrounds for the oldest to drop off artwork the Orange truck was there unloading lots of Orange things. Our 4yr. old grandson was ecstatic - "ooh grandpa would like that one then ooh grandpa would like that one better . . . " What a...

BF350 loader in my future maybe

I have an opportunity to score a BF350 loader and subframe off a B8200 to adapt to my B6200 HSTD. I was quoted a killer price so I said "first refusal" and will check it out this fall when the weeds and bees are dead. The wheel base is 2.5" difference, but from what I've seen they are...

Sometimes it pays to shop local.

I've been shopping for suitcase weights on line - $79, $89 + freight - oh my. Called my local dealer on a whim and got them for $58 out the door for the same thing. Sometimes it pays to shop local. :D

My chain drag harrow came today -

Brown dropped of my new chain drag harrow today. 4' x 4' with 1/2" tines. TSC has potato plows on sale for $139 too. Between my harrow, rock rake, tiller and plow I may get a good garden and field this year. I bought this harrow off Amazon - the tines are 1/2" and it was less money than the...
