What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Got 2" of snow yesterday, but the ground is too soft to go fetch the back blade from the back field. Oh well - one of these days.

I love my Pat's and Hodge stabilizers - just sayin'.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I was mowing the back field the other night and hit a tree root. I sounded funny and was skipping the center so I parked it for the night. Yesterday I got under it and found 3/8" of wobble in the blade. I got the nut off (left hand BTW) and it's a mess and looks like it sheared. I started...

Another reminder to be careful with your tractor

A guy was killed in a Farmall 885 rollover a town over from us last month. Sad part was they didn't find him till the next day. I heard the roadway was wet and the crown on that particular curve is pretty steep. There was no traffic involved which is unusual as city people don't know that...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I washed mine today. The damned chickens scratch in the dirt under the barn overhang where it sleeps. Plus the pollen this year is just crazy especially the pines. Anyway finished that, cleaned the chaff screen hosed off the finish mower and cut the back and side fields. It's a gorgeous day...

    That uneasy feeling?

I have sloped ground to mow and I know I'm perfectly stable, but I'm glad to those "oh sh!t" handles on the fenders - LOL. I'm looking for a pair to put on my Cub 1440, but they are hard to find and everything new is plastic. In fact I'm noticing a whole lot of stuff on new tractors is plastic...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I noticed my brush hog had slid partway off it's pallet. I had the forks on the 3pt so I picked it up and put it right. Then while hooking up my finish mower I found the attached point of the top link was stuck. Took that off and chucked it in a vise and had to use a spud wrench to unscrew it...

    Cruise control - downside?

With the speed control engaged why would you have your foot on the treadle? I have one I need to clean up, paint and install this year.

Spacers - Front and Rear, or Rear Only?

If the manual says "no front spacers" then they mean "no front spacers". The problem with front spacers is if doing so voids your warranty and I believe they could figure out the cause of the failure.

    Suitcase weights for L2501

It looks like standard 55lb. suit case weights will fit the mount. Source them locally if you can shipping drives the price up substantially. The cheapest I found them on line when I was shopping for them was $85+shipping - o_O I bought mine from the local Kubota dealer for $55 out the door...

    Zerk Twerk

I have two grease guns - one with a lock-n-lube and the old style to reach where the locking chuck won't. There is a locking chuck like an air chuck, but it's $38!!!

    After market non-Kubota filters?

I stick with OEM from the Kubota dealer. I would never use a Fram I'm surprised they are still in business.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

@nbryan - That is a mid 60s Speedex. It's a really cool tractor and it came with a snow plow, discs, moldboard plow, etc. It sat idle for 30+ years and was a lawn ornament the past few. We got it freed up and gave it to a guy we know who redid the ignition and now it runs like a top. Gotta...

    Suitcase weights

Sorry for the delay - those are Carlisle True Powers on the back and R4s on the front mounted to the stock turf rims. I grooved the lugs and haven't gotten stuck yet. got a brand new set of chains still in the bags from 5yrs. ago.

    Can my B2601 handle this?

With the number of zero turns on the market today you should be able to find a good used finish mower at a reasonable price.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

First really nice day in months yesterday so we got the "fleet" running and my 8yr. old grandson drove them all around except for the Kubota. He was a little shy about that? I don't know why - he was pushing a pallet of slate with the excavator the day before. He'll be mowing grass this...

Any other hobby farmers out there???

We have two gardens. One is 16 x 50 feet in the back field next to my garlic patch and the other is smaller for greens, peppers, etc. in the lower yard and we have chickens too. The fence around the upper one is to keep the deer out. Funny story - two seasons ago I had a fabulous tabasco...

    Painting suitcase weights

Mine came black and I scuffed them, washed them with naphtha then shot with R2 Rustoleum which is about as close to Kubota 1 as you'll find at a decent price. PSA - check your local dealer - mine were $58 bucks each out the door while they were upwards of $80 on line + shipping. Sometimes it...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Got 9" of medium powder yesterday so plugged in the block heater, prechecked then cleaned off my car. Our son got the old Speedex going so my 8 yr. old grandson cleaned up my wind rows with it. He had a blast.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Plowed here too @ 4" with the back blade. After five years I'm getting the hang of it - LOL. It's not a bad way to move snow.
