    gear oil in a 4x4 front end

    The service/maintenance section of the operators manual on my L3410 says you can substitute 80-90w gear oil for the factory installed UDT fluid, if needed. IMO, if the seals and bearings are leaking 80-90w, it's (past) time for replacement; seeing as using gear oil is already a patch.
