    The Line Up!

Folks - Getting the feel for the new L3902. It has a grand total of 0007.2 hours on it! So far we've felled a couple of trees, dragged some felled limbs around, smushed debris up for the burn pile and towed another tractor around. FUN! So here's the line up! A 1938 Ford 9N, a 1947 English...

Trench Digging Fab for 3902 w FEL

Folks - I need to dig some trenches for french drains, perhaps foundation footings. I've seen the hacks using a ripper and a piece of conduit to direct bury rolled irrigation tubing, etc, but I need something a bit wider. A foot deep would be nice; more, better. If it was 6"-8" wide, that...

Very good! The wife doesn't like orange, so she's kind of stuck. I don't think Dixie on the hood will sway her... But I did find this!

L245DT - Being parted out - Northern California

Folks - Well, the NEW orange one showed up - L3902HST, and it's time to retire the L245DT. The engine is shot, but I did put a new set of injectors on it less than 50 hours ago. It is complete, has an FEL. If anyone is interested in parts, I am entertaining offers. I don't really feel like...

    L3902 HST - Delivered Today!

Folks - Well, it's here! It took me about 9 months of doing, but a brand new 0.9 hours Kubota L3902 HST is sitting behind the barn! I purchased it from Garton Tractor in Ukiah, CA (Northern Calif 101) and it is replacing an arthritic L245DT. Here's a pic of the tractor still on the trailer...

PTO Driven log splitter vs. stand alone L3902HST

Folks - Welllll... Went over to Garton Tractor in Ukiah (Calif) and did a "preflight" on the L3902HST that is being delivered on Tuesday. Very much looking forward to it! Our L245DT has served admirably, if intermittently, due to the foibles of PO abuse and general age - Had her out...

    New L3902HST

I had one many years ago, and it was a tough, handy tractor. I bought this one about six or seven years ago and it is just about worn out. I had toyed with rebuilding it, again, but death of a thousand cuts and all. I haven't bought new in many, many moons, but I am getting a pretty good...

    New L3902HST

Folks - It has taken eight months, but I've finally pulled the trigger on an L3902HST. I haven't taken delivery yet, just signed off on everything on Friday. I downloaded the User's Manual and have been flipping through it. Looking for any tips and advice early on for break in - I know not...

    Engine "Family" Number Query L3902

Thank you SO much for this! I don't know if this is it or not, I'll need to confirm, but for now - I don't have squat. I do appreciate it. Everyone else - please chime in. I'd like some definitive link between the 3902 and the engine family for the power unit.

    Engine "Family" Number Query L3902

Well, I am not sure why. I've been working on this for some time, and part of the financing is providing the documents they've requested. What difference is "why"? My question is legitimate. You may not like the question or find it superfluous, but that's not the point. I was simply looking...

    Engine "Family" Number Query L3902

All - Good day. Looking at an L3902, but to get the tractor one of the documents I need is the "EPA Certification" of the "Engine Family" - this is not the model of the tractor or the engine SN, but some sort of emissions grouping for ..... spending tax money? Anyway, I went to the...

    Replacement Tractor suggestion for L245DT

Folks - Good day! Hotter than the hubs of hell here in Northern California. Been over 100 most of the week.. Yeesh! Okay, got a question. We have a little over 20 acres of flat bottom land. We've just taken out an old walnut orchard and are needing to figure which way to go with it...

    L245DT/D1101 Serial Number Question

Folks - I have had my L245DT for years - it's been a good, if cranky, tractor. I may (*may*) be in a position to get a new L3902 in the next few months. More on that later. So, one thing I need to find - is the darn engine serial number! I found the tractor data plate on the left side of...

L245 DT Tractor replacement and transmission Choices - Std or Hydrostatic?

Folks - Still going around and around with myself regarding rebuilding the engine, etc in my L245DT vs.... New tractor? The 245 is 25 HP, so I'd want that much or a little more. I was looking at, what, the 3302 or the 3902. I don't really need four wheel drive. The bulk of my work is...

Parts Sources - Engine overhaul L245DT/D1101

Folk - I have a tired L245DT. The engine needs to be overhauled, at least the top end. The engine has good oil pressure so, hoping an in-frame and not messing with the crank mains will work. Parts prices and suppliers are all over the map! Can any of you recommend a piston/liner/overhaul...

    L245LT clutch follow up, more....

Okay - I understand that they wouldn't sell a kubota branded product, but would what they sell, generally, work? I won't buy the cheapest grade, but may give the middle grade a go - it's about 50 bucks for 5 gallons, vs 35 for the cheap stuff, or about 70 for the top grade. What do you think?

    L245LT clutch follow up, more....

All - Okay, UDT Hydraulic oil - but what weight should I use. Temps here range from 25 to 112; most of the use of the tractor would be 40 to 100 degree temps...

    L245LT clutch follow up, more....

All - Okay, what came out of the box was not gear oil - it was hydraulic fluid. I see both spec'd, and that OE was gear oil. My feeling is that the two should not be mixed. So if I go with hydraulic, what weight? Can any of you more experience than I offer any specific brands and weights...
