BX1850D: Needing some guidance in replacing forward propeller shaft oil seal

Out of the blue, my little orange critter started leaking tranny oil. It looked like the leak was coming from the oil seal for the front propeller shaft right at the tranny spline stub. I removed the HST filter and in examining it, I thought I detected a super tiny pin hole. I was super pleased...

    Spanner wrenches

I'm rebuilding my bucket cylinder....and so far....absolutely NO ONE has a frigging spanner wrench that will fit this cylinder. The cylinder is 3" in diameter - but the pin is 15/64. (I used a drill index until I could find that one size that fit perfectly.) Of course after spending too much...

    Bucket won't stay in position

BX1850d with LA203 FEL. Today - for the very first time - the bucket will no longer remain in any position. Regardless of start point, it will very slowly rotate downward. I have no leaks around the bucket cylinder, and fluid level is right on the money. That said, it responds to curl without...

Even Kubota knows plastic body is no good!

I had to laugh. In Kubota's new comparison to a John Doe model - they mock that the JD has a plastic body....but the Kubota model is all steel! Meanwhile, today the hand grip on the left fender of my BX1850d cracked completely off. The replacement part is just a mere $50....I mean...what's...

    BX1850 steering crazy-crazy crud

Bit the bullet and plunked down the $270 for a new steering cylinder. Another $45 for a hydraulic hose and some fluid. Plus, another $35 for rubber boots that don't shred at the first site of a dandelion. Put it all together, did a little bleeding - and then took her for the first mow post...

    BX 1850 steering

I did some ranting and raving a couple years back about this orange thing in my yard. The plastic body has all but completely fallen off. I got over it. The engine and tranny are still smooth - starts every time and no problems. But the one thing that has not found any lasting resolution is the...

    OTR is now online!

Tired of buying rim and tire from Kubota when all you need is a tire?? http://otrwheel.com After 10 years, I have 7 or 8 rims for the front end laying around, and still all I can buy from Kubota is tire+rim. The little 16x7.50-8 ag tire is available on OTR website. Shipping was free...and I...

    BX series advice

If the body & hood are still that orange plastic - I wouldn't do it. It may look nice in the show room - but if you plan on doing anything other than mow grass - expect to see pieces of orange plastic here and there.....

    BX1850 orange confetti

I just love the way my little orange tractor drops orange confetti just about everywhere it goes. I never fail to find a piece of its little orange plastic body laying somewhere around the yard. A piece here. A piece there. A couple weeks back...the whole left fender fell off. The screw downs...

BX1850D - rear axle blow out?

This has happened twice - and i still don't have a clue as to why. The left side rear axle seal (at least the plastic 'cup') will push out, all the fluid runs out - and then it pulls itself back in. I have scratched everything trying to figure it out. Any thoughts?

    BX1850 sputters only when moving

I've read through other postings on sputtering. Have replaced both in line fuel filters, and then checked to make sure there is good flow all the way through the second filter. Turned ignition switch on and get plenty of fuel flow right up to the engine. Tractor runs perfectly at any RPM -...
